It will be interesting to hear the Blackburn and the Lancs Police response to the club statement. I heard very reliably that we could have had 6500 had we agreed to an earlier kick off. It is normal practice to keep some rows sterile. The club chose to start selling before they had a response to their request. Had they waited 24 hours they could have made an informed decision as I understand both Blackburn and the police sanctioned the fuller allocation on Monday afternoon. By this time tickets were on sale and moving quickly. I agree that we shouldn't have to be subjected to this treatment. Sadly a number of factors will have been taken in to account. Our history; the fact that a small minority of Leeds fans caused mayhem back in November when they allowed them the whole end; the disgraceful behaviour of a small number of "supporters" in Leicester and on route back via Derby; the fact that our average away following is only around 2,000 this season. Leicester was our biggest following so far and by a long way the most edgy. There is no doubt that the police were worried about elements travelling who select certain games for some action. Some of the talk on here in the past few days would only serve to reinforce that view. I only post this to provide some balance. My hope is that those without tickets stay away and allow those lucky enough to get them a safe day without mindless harassment from the police. Talk of Stokies in home areas and worse will I fear mean it will be a frosty reception which. added to the discontent that some of our supporters will show towards our hosts, make for a potentially tricky afternoon. And that's just off the pitch. Thought the behaviour at Leicester was impeccable. What disgraceful behaviour are you referring to? Certainly there were problems in and around the station after the game and the escort to the ground of a large group before the match which I observed was a throw back. The nonsense on the train and at Derby station was worse I agree. The point is that I haven't seen this for a while, only once since we came up infact. Word travels and whilst our behaviour has improved markedly there is no doubt there are still those who see the game as entirely secondary.

Filling a pub, owned by an exiled Stokie and that was seemingly closed, to hide from the police and then cause as much disruption to the citizens of Leicester, be they football supporters or not. A small number attacking random Leicester fans on leaving the ground. Police forces liaise with one another and only a few weeks ago the police forces of Leicester and Derby were glad to get rid of Stoke fans from their cities.

Your attitude is probably the reason why genuine law abiding Stoke fans have been deprived of the full allocation of tickets,....... Thanks What a load of bollocks. God their's some wazzacks on here. You can't have a laugh on here. Who are you calling a wazzack? Your incitement to give the police a load of grief is not helpful at all. I don't find your comments funny & I suspect that I'm not the only one.

I saw supporters trying to jump the barriers to get into town. I understand there was a get together with Birmingham fans who were on there way back from Sheffield I think. Sadly the risk increases once we go outside our normal travelling base, as we did at Leicester and as we would have done, and may still do, at Blackburn.

On the plus side on our behaviour I was told that Staffs old bill reassured GMP that we were better behaved than the Fail before our trip to Rochdale

The meeting should go like this. Give us the extra tickets and we'll behave. Don't give them and we'll wreck the place. I'm sure that comments like this helped Stoke to secure a few more tickets. Lancashire Police must have been very impressed.

On the plus side on our behaviour I was told that Staffs old bill reassured GMP that we were better behaved than the Fail before our trip to Rochdale I heard today that Fail fans were openly snorting off the tables on the train back from Notts. Apparently it was not a good journey back for any ordinary passengers.

According to the Blackburn board there could be extra police deployed around the away end. Should be fun

Stop being so bastard serious. Stafford, have a look at Sportsman's other posts & then tell me it's a 'piss take'. For whatever reason Stoke City travelling supporters have a bad reputation (largely unjustified in my opinion). Inciteful comments don't help our cause.

This one seems to be the most popular. www.brfcc.com/mb/topic/31647-fa-cup-201415-thread/page-29 Interesting to read their view on things. They seem to be very touchy about people blaming blackburn...

Should this justify an early kick off? I don't think so but you can see why the police might not think so. Who to blame? The selfish bastards who piss about in our name.

Mate, no matter what we do as a club we will never lose the tag we have had for many years. We had ID cards and still got treated like shit and escorted everywhere even though every fan that had one had to pass a police check. It is because of the past history of the club that they base their decisions on not the present. Sportsman like many others on here, including me enjoy the banter and a wind up. You should take things with a pinch of salt. I am sure the police or Blackburn will not be so worried as you are about a few flippant comments on a message board.

And it's got nothing to do with the GMP. It's not GMP its Lancs police my geographically challenged friend ! Lancashire police are of course distinct from GMP in their fair handling of these situations. Fucking hell, does it matter whose badge they are wearing my pedantic anorak-wearing "friend"!

So Man U, Liverpool, Man City, Leeds, Burnley,Celtic and Middlesborough can all have the entire Darwin end.I want to know on what grounds have we been denied this?I would bet my house that our arrest record for disorder and other offences have been less than all of these clubs since we have been in the premier league so whats the reason???????????????? They cannot just say on the grounds on safety because as I have just said its safer to watch stoke than all of these other teams.

Leeds and boro both took the full 7000 allocation. Both caused loads of problems. The same police force have been trying to stop the 5.30pm kick off of a forthcoming Burnley v man city game. They are failing because its a televised fixture and as they've done with this week's televised Merseyside derby, the premier league have ruled the roost. We don't have that luxury with a non televised fa cup game at Blackburn.

Absolutely it does. Through my boy, I've become really good friends with the facilities director at Burnley. He liaises with police and is in charge of match day operations. He was telling me earlier tonight about the problems with our fixture at Blackburn and also the issues with the forthcoming Burnley v man city game.

Previous problems, known trouble makers whenever we travel in big numbers, Leicester, Wigan, Bolton, oldham and oddly I thought, sheff wed and Rotherham, which must date back 10 years+. Apparently we have one of the worst reputations in the country for causing problems for the general public of the cities we visit.

We trashed Burnley on our last Saturday visit as well by all accounts. I think that would have been the Steve cotterill game. We weren't particularly well behaved for any visit to Wigan nor the Christmas fixture v Blackburn where they restricted our allocation.
