Foreign, exciting, full of tricks but doesn't always track back. Surely you cant be that surprised. The only thing Pulis did before terminating Varela's loan was to get rid of Blanco (technical creative 'number 10' who is 5 foot 5) At 3-0 today he decided to replace Mcmanaman with Craig Gardner as a right winger We may well stay up but I've never looked forward to the second half of a season less. Haha, you really got the idea now don't you mate. Honestly I had the idea before he took charge of a match, and so far he has confirmed every fear I had of him. I still I hope he proves me wrong but all I can see is woeful football and a mixture of expensive flops and mid range (at best) solid British hard workers. Pulis may have signed some good cheap players for you like Shawcross and Whelan but I get the impression he feels he shouldn't have the shop in that market any more.

spot on but I still bet he keeps them up Pulis or no pulis, brazil wouldn't have got relegated. Agree with this. We had a failed league 1 manager in charge and even he couldn't drag us in to the bottom 3. Last year was bordering on a farce and we still stayed up. But Pulis says its his toughest job in football and will no doubt be lauded from all sides when we've bored our way to 15th in May

Have they got £30 million to waste if so then he will. Yeah, he pissed money up the wall on players like John Walters didn't he? Genuine question which you will know the answer to much better than me Do you think Pulis would sign John Walters today? As in the player than was at Ipswich. I think he feels he has moved on from that market and deserves to be buying a higher class of a player. The problem is he's shown whilst very adept in the 'bargain basement' hes pretty poor when given a blank chequebook

The problem is he's shown whilst very adept in the 'bargain basement' hes pretty poor when given a blank chequebook We signed Jon Walters from Ipswich for £2.75 million in late 2010, having stayed up in our previous 1st season in the Prem. He is the stereo type DNA Pulis player who typifies what TP looks for in a player. At the the time we were looking to consolidate our position in The Prem, and he was the perfect player for us. If there was a player out there, even in the Championship, that TP though had half the qualities Jon has, he would definitely sign that player. The cost would not really be the deciding factor. Hope you stay up, but I think we'll whip your arses again at Baggie HQ.

Nah but he did piss money up the wall on others as well you know, Wilson Palacios probably the biggest bollock he dropped £8 million there are other examples if you need me to point them out but I am sure you are aware of them.

Looking at the Boing Boing BB's run in I don't think they'll get relegated. There are at least 2/3 winnable games in there plus a couple of score bores. While Pulis's 'failings' as a manager are obvious so are his 'abilities' He'll grind out the points. Plus as been stated before there are worse teams than WBA in the prem at the moment.

Appears to have split the Brazil fans already, anyone remember Huth or Woodgate or Wilson at left back seems familiar, maybe trying to force the chairman's hand into his pocket as it was suggested he did at Stoke on occasion , next signing Ryan Shotton as a winger

I never liked pulis but to be honest he did a superb job here until the season after we got to the cup final. It went to his head, he spent too much money on the crouch/palcios deal and crouch, who has been superb since hughes took charge, just made pulisball unbearable to watch.
Pulis will guarantee survival for west brom then move on.

Albion Forum Comments made me feel all nostalgic.
Re: After Match Debate « Reply #30 on: Today at 06:47:48 PM »
Special mention to Tony Pulis for another rubbish team selection. You keep calling it unbalanced pal. Does it not surprise you when you play our best centre back at left back? Not even Irvine was stupid enough to rise to those levels of ineptness.
Bit stunned today never thought I would see a roll over and have our bellies tickled performance from a Pulis side. Got a feeling we could be his first failure but then again would it be a bad thing at least we wouldn't have to put up with two and a half years of pure dross.
If he does fail he will only have himself to blame. The squad he inherited wasn't in the bottom three, and it still isn't. If he keeps playing players out of position, sticking with players who haven't been performing then who else can be to blame. In my view the squad is worse now than it was when he started with us just a month ago, and the first eleven he is picking is arguably worse than the Irvine first eleven.
Re: After Match Debate « Reply #53 on: Today at 08:18:09 PM » I just don't get why supposedly intelligent coaches/managers insist, to the point of losing their jobs, to play square pegs in round holes.
It could well be that we can give up any hope of seeing even a whiff of creative football under Pulis, never mind the supposed 'good' football he played at Palace. Today was poor and Irvine-esque, even if we did create more today than the usual one or no effort under AI.
Albions' plan...Hoof into the oppositions' half and hope that Vic can cover all their side of the pitch.
