I aren't sure I buy it, he seems geared up for European football of some sort. This makes no sense.

I aren't sure I buy it, he seems geared up for European football of some sort. This makes no sense. It is baffling- he seemed to be obsessed with the thought of playing in Europe. But maybe if the Cypriot thing has hit the buffers, the money on offer as maybe a designated player in MLS is superior to playing in the second tier in Germany? And he can go back to living where he was rather than somewhere alien?

I'm amazed, as those SLP lads told me he was almost definitely signing in Jan.

We've been linked with him for so long we may as well give him a bloody testimonial if he goes back to the States.

Didn't Hughes come out and say we had given up on him last season after the appeal failed? For all I know, which is pretty close to nothing, the whole Cypriot passport business was just a rumour.

I Completely different mate, the 3 you mentioned were indeed what the fuck signings, Agudelo was purely a work permit that was turned down! Everybody at the club was confident that it would get approved but dickhead dyke shoved his nose in!

It will be all sorted out today. It all depends in the verdict of his passport. Stoke, 1860 Munich, Real Betis another Spanish side and New England have all shown interest in him now after this drawn out affair. Stoke hoping after all the effort they have put in, that if his passport application is granted then he will chose Stoke

The fact the physio allowed him to walk of the pitch is a positive, the fact he could walk suggests it's not his ACL so won't be a long term injury, if it's jus tweeked a ligament he could be only out for a couple of weeks, but we all will find out more later today after his scan

so slp he will hear about his passport today? But he hasnt made his mind up it seems? I guess we need to re-imburse him for the 6 months out of the sport and needing to buy a house in Cyprus - but I thought this would have been a gentlemans agreement in return for him signing with us.

Wayne Hennessey played the full match so you can never be sure but hopefully just a tweak!

That would be his management team that convinced him to make those sacrifices as he wants to play in the premier league. But if the passport is still not granted it leaves him no option but to look else where than Stoke, hence all the other teams been tapped up on his situation

And if no passport then back to MLS or to Spain?

Those must of been small tears in ACL, I pulled all my ligament of my pelvis when I was younger, and it felt like a bomb went of in my leg, I am sure I could not play football if i ruptured my ACL

Fingers crossed it's anything but his Cruciate's as that will be 9-12 months!

I've ruptured both of mine, first time I came off but played for a further two weeks before the diagnosis confirmed the extent of the damage. Second time the pain was debilitating and I was strapped up for weeks before I had an operation to correct it. Everyone is second guessing and no one will know until he's had a scan.
Apparently they did give him a preliminary scan on the photocopying machine in the offices at Rochdale however the results were inconclusive!
