Outside of the two best forwards in the world he is right up there with the rest as I have already stated. His record at the highest level of football stands up to the rest. My original point still stands,a player who has had the career that Rooney has had cannot be classed as overrated. Silly argument. Of course he can. So your saying that rooney is in the same bracket as Aguero, neymar, suarez, costa,?When you say best two forwards i take it you mean messi and ronaldo.Wayne rooney is third division material compared to any of these!

Jesus Christ,do I have to spell it out to you? He would be on the bench due to the World's two greatest footballers occupying the front two positions Considering the current two best players in the world are right up there with the finest players ever to play the game I don't see that as a negative issue.

I think you were meant to be quoting me? Anyway I'll answer just in case. ... Rooneys goalscoring record at the very highest level suggests otherwise. Don't let your obvious hatred for Rooney and all things Manchester Utd cloud your view.

I know it's all about opinions and that, but I think Rooney is the best player in the league and if anything, he's under-rated by a lot of people.
I'm surprised more people don't like him (as a footballer); he's quality in a number of positions, will always give you 110% effort and seems to be a decent-ish enough guy off the pitch.
He probably was 'world class' at some point, but not anymore.

What you need to ask is does Rooneys record stand up against those players that your little sidekick stated? You will find that it does and it even outweighs some of them also. A quick bit of research will tell you that. The OP asked for the "most" overrated players in the premier league and by saying Rooney, you and you're accomplice are totally wrong and are only saying such because you don't like the bloke. To answer your last question,I don't particularly like Rooney as a person and I have a strong dislike for Manchester Utd as a club but i don't let it cloud my judgement about him as a footballer.

Rooney known by everyone globally. Rooney on the same kind of money as Ronaldo and Messi. Rooney in the same marketing campaigns as those 2. He's nowhere near their level but marketed and idolised the same because he's English and we have a lack of talent.

Jack Wilshere - How this muppet is still considered a class player by all the fuckwits on MOTD etc is beyond me. Arsenal have shown time and time again they're far better without him. He spends his entire game passing the ball to the opposition, going on hopeless runs without the actual talent to beat the man (unlike Gazza), and throwing himself on the floor. He's an odious little shit.
Simon Mignolet - As far as keepers go, how he's considered one of the best baffles me. He's neither particularly good at shopping, nor the aerial battle.
Adam Lallana - He was the pundits late night wank last season, but for me, he's finally found his true form. Looks absolute shit most of the time. He's neither skilful, nor particularly good at passing the ball. Against Bolton yesterday, he looked like a Championship player. Southampton did some great business there.
Laurent Koscielny - I get that he's a good centre back and I don't doubt that, but some pundits and Arsenal fans in particular genuinely believe he's one of the best in the world. He clearly isn't. He's your typical modern Arsenal defender and by that I mean he's a flapper. He effectively handed us three points last season that really weren't coming by his ridiculous handball and so many other occasions he's made silly mistakes that have cost Arsenal games (League Cup anyone). Instead, the media would rather ignore these obvious issues and simply focus on the fact he once tackled Lionel Messi or something... it's ridiculous.
Steven Gerrard - Handed Citeh the title, walked England out of a World Cup and has started this campaign so poorly, most Liverpool fans are happy that he's fucking off to America... don't tell the BBC though, if it was up to them, they'd hand him the FA Cup now.
Joe Hart - Another goalkeeper who's bigger than his boots yet when push comes to shove, let's everyone down. You only have to look at the goal Diouf scored to see why Hart isn't even in the top 5 keepers in the Premiership.

You mean Suarez who is currently busy proving he was a one season wonder at Liverpool? Costa who had never scored more than 10 goals in a season until last year? Neymar who has helped the previously all conquering Barcelona to win the square root of nothing so far? Versus Wayne Rooney who has been the cornerstone of a team thats won 5 league titles, 2 league cups, won a champions league and made the final of 2 more in the 10 years he's been performing at the top level there? Yeah, id say he stands in the same bracket. Some people are blinded by the hatred of the team he plays for. Ronaldo was the same.

Phil Jones, Chris Smalling Both utter dog shit. I think Jones is better than he is showing but not international quality at the moment. He needs to leave that club. Anyway not much point continuing this thread as it so obviously Smalling who is the worst defender in the league bar none. Wes Morgan or Smalling? Morgan is at least committed. Actually, far worse than him is Johnny Evans. He's good for at least one critical mistake, per game and, a sign of a bad defender, always looks around for someone to blame, when clearly it was him, the ball watching retard.
