Just wondering on here, If anyone has given any shirts away abroad and turned people to being a stokie, or even here.
Example; We have got a lad at work, from Guimaraes in Portugal, Massive Vitoria De Guimaraes fan. He asked me to swap a shirt with him so he could wear a stoke top when he goes back home. Now he comes all the games with me and is a big stoke/guimaraes fan as he wears his guimaraes scarf and stoke shirt at our games.
Anyone else have a sort of second team abroad through colleagues or mates and changed a foreign supporter into a stokie?

Yeah, friend of mine from Heerhugowaard in Holland, we met through wakeboarding, he's a PSV fan.
He started making quite a few trips over here to wakeboard and I started taking him to Stoke, he absolutely loves it and pays more attention to Stoke now than PSV. He loves being the only one among his friends over there not to follow Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea. He's only seen us lose once (Spurs 150th anni game) and is coming over next for Man City on the 11th.

I worked in Colima, Mexico (on the Pacific coast) for half a year, gave out some Stoke scarfs whilst out there... it got to the point where a Chilean who I worked with gave up on my actual name and used to call me "Stoke". I now work as a geologist and operate in Ethiopia for quite a lot of the year - i've converted Ethiopians who followed Man Utd to Stoke My dad worked in Indonesia before retiring - I believe there are Indonesians who inherited my old Stoke shirts with "Clarke" and "Brammer" on the backs - I had absurd taste in players!

Sponsored a village football team whilst working in Uganda, the whole village are now Stokies. Stoke City FC kindly donated kit & they play in Stoke Colours every game. They have some gifted players too, they now have 3 teams established in what is a very poor area but blessed with lovely people.

I'd just like to say the stories I've read on this thread are fantastic not only because of you fellas spreading the message of SCFC but also the kindness you have shown the people you talk about.

Yep very admirable indeed. On a similar note. I got pissed in Kavos at night and took my stoke top off and demanded the bar owner cover up the Vale one that was already on the ceiling.

Quite a few of my London mates now view Stoke as their second team, used to take them up to games in the Championship/League 1 when I was younger.

I've got a fair few lads following the Stoke FB page and some people from work keeping a tab on our results which I get to discuss with them on Monday mornings. I generally manage to convince 1 or 2 to come out and watch the games with me but I wouldn't say they especially support us.
I think I need to shift it up a gear. I have a fair few shirts from previous seasons I can give away. The problem is I always get my name and age printed on them, i.e 'Legend 34'.

I am off to Kenya again in February and always take last seasons shirt with me to give one of the locals where we stay which is Turtle bay, Wattamu. Its always good when we return to see one of my shirts being worn around the village, there must be 10 of them around by now unless they have worn out.
For this year I took advantage of Stoke selling off last seasons away shirts for a tenner so I bought 12 of them which I will give to a small local or the hotels team when we get there, picture to follow when we get back.

Gave one of the waiters one of my Stoke tips last year I. Egypt. Every time he saw me he would shout 'come on Stoke'.
He wanted a top as everyone else was United or Liverpool and he hated them.

I gave a Stoke shirt to a lad we used to employ in the kitchen of our cafe some years ago, here on a little island in the middle of the Philippines. Thought he'd be chuffed with it, maybe he was, didn't show it,(emotions like that are scarce here) he still wears it nowadays so good on Asics that it lasted so long but doubt very much that he follows Stoke!!
On the other hand, i've some friends here from Austria, Switzerland, Germany and the occasional Filipino who keep themselves bang up to date with the goings on at Stoke, following the results and cup draws etc;
Nice to think I've spread the word a little bit!
(Similarly I now also check out how St. Gallen are doing in the Swiss league)
