Mmm, isn't Stokes a Kiwi? I understand that his folks are living back there now ...... perhaps if England don't find him a spot then the Black Caps could use his talents. But there again they are flying high at the moment that perhaps they wouldn't need him.
If they don't want him then I'm sure the Australian selectors would look favourably on providing him with a new passport.
Irrespective of the 150 he belted out in SA, England can't afford to leave this chap out of their squad.... or do they know something they are keeping close to the chest.

Two notable absentees from England's squad; Stokes and Hayles.
Seems crazy - but who would you leave out? I guess Bopara and Bell - although there are arguments for picking both. Personally I'd have had gone for the younger guys - but I can see why the old 'uns got the nod. Also, it should be said, neither player made much of a case for selection in Sri Lanka and Stokes, in particular, has not made much of a showing in an England shirt since performing as the best of a bad bunch last time out down under.
That said, I don't see Bell or Bopara featuring much in the ODI squad going forward. Stokes and Hayles will get their chance.
In truth, it won't make much difference. Our bowling ain't good enough for this tournament, and our batting is just too fragile. That'd be the same with Stokes and Hayles in the team.

England had Stokes batting way down the order 8 wasn't it? in the summer though, in SA he is batting at No. 5.
