Absolutely crackers scheduling. Boxing day - OK fine, but to play 2 days later then again on New Years Day? One game too many for me.

Well.....it depends from what angle you are asking the question I suppose...?

There are a few, mainly the players ability to perform at their best with such a short recovery and the cost of games in a short space of time for the fans.

Yes....but the same applies to The Baggies too...

Not a great time for us with our injury list. Bojan was struggling after he took the pen yesterday, constantly holding his hip. He surely is a concern tomorow. Hopefully he will do us a hour and score the 3rd then he can have a rest.

It's not about pay though is it? It's about scheduling. All those so called "international weekends" where there is nothing to do except jerk yourself off for a fortnight then suddenly there are 3 games in 7 days

My response will come from the angle of me. Working for NHS 9-5 Mon-Fri dosnt exsist. Ive got to work tomorrow 8-12. Ill be more than fine for the game however also other plans that may get made i have decisions to make. Christmas time friends of mine are off til Jan 5th most of them. im back in monday. One year i must be ruthless and book xmas week off. So friends i see may say tomoz lets do somthing as we cant always meet up. Then it poses a question miss the odd game to do somthing nice with them. i mite get a text in mornin lets meet up afternoon. Thier again i may not.(More thank likely though ill be at the game tomoz). People on here mite say Stoke shud come before everything. Sometimes in my opinion though no i wouldnt mind missing the odd game to do somthing nice with them. New years day 12:45 is a bit shit to. Out new years eve not sure where yet but now needing to make sure im around early ish mornin to get to the game. Sorry for rambling on but im giving the non football angle. I love Stoke City but occasionally maybe once twice a season i wud give it up because enhoying time with friends is nice and if it occasionally clashes i have that decision to make.

I love the Christmas schedule.
I think what I would like to see change is that I would get rid of all the international breaks, have the season finish four weeks earlier and then stick all the international fixtures in the period between the end of the season and where the end of the season would have been.

Couldn't be a better time to play the Baggies imo.

I think it is bonkers, and we are going to suffer without Bojan who obviously needs more than 2 days recovery time

Couldn't be a better time to play the Baggies imo. Why? They are playing very well but have not had the breaks and have virtually a full squad to choose from for the first time in several weeks whereas we seem to be coming apart at every nail.

There is a good case for a mid winter break BUT Boxing Day should remain. Not that a winter break will happen. Not that greedy thick clubs can be trusted not to whisk their players to Dubai or Qatar for lucrative friendlies.

Their bodys should be in peak condition and have good facility's to help them recover. Every teams in the same boat, but the PL is all money orientated and money talks

This coincides with the aftermath of euros and world cup so wouldn't impact. Just end the season slightly later Plus no clubs can have international friendlies

The killer game this time on the game on Thursday. Cramming another one in is sort of disrespectful to the FA cup 3rd round.

It happens every season I'm pretty sure? Everyone goes through it, adds a different dynamic and who can complain about only having to wait a couple of days between matches?

All those so called "international weekends" where there is nothing to do except jerk yourself off for a fortnight then suddenly there are 3 games in 7 days Wouldn'there always have been 3 games? It's tradition. If Boxing Day falls on a Monday or Friday I imagine there are then no weekend games. Perhaps a Statto can confirm this. Not a problem for me. In fact, I love the Xmas-New Year fixture period. It's the same for everyone and I don't think playing 3 games in a week is too demanding. I bet the players aren't that arsed. After all, they get easier training sessions or even none at all. They all have squads. Now is the time to use them. P.s. look at the attendances on Boxing Day in The Championship. Quite impressive. How often do Middlesbrough get over 32,000 @ home? Oops. Just noticed my schoolboy error re. Boxing Day which actually did fall on a Friday this year and the PL have still determined that teams should play on the weekend. I still have no problem with 2 games in 2 days and 3 games in 7 plus the FA Cup makes 4 games in 9/10 days. Marvellous. Bring it on!

Do baseball players get this scrutiny? They play every day. A bunch of tubby blokes mostly standing motionless in a field for x hours can't really be compared Joe. I think shelf-stacking is a more physically demanding job than baseball.
