I can't make my mind up whether Diouf is better or worse than Jerome!

Why can't we playDiouf up top as the center forward? Get the lad off the wing and into the middle of things. He can hold the ball up, chases lost causes, and tracks back. He just needs a steady run of matches in the same position to come good. Hold the ball up? He couldn't hold the ball up if it was covered in fuzzy felts and his boots were made of velcro. I've never seen a centre-forward with a worse first touch. What do you expect?. Fcuk me we could only afford £55K a week.

I can't make my mind up whether Diouf is better or worse than Jerome! Jerome had a modicum of control

We have a goalscorer in Diouf. We just need to stick with him, stop playing him out on the wings, and give him games.
Our number one target for the transfer window should be a centre back.

How about ..............bego............ Bards.....Ryan...Muni.....Erik SJW/Arnie.........Fonzy.......Moses ( when fit ) ............Bojan............ .....Crouch......Defoe....... That isn't an even remotely viable formation.

That isn't an even remotely viable formation. Why ? You've got nobody protecting the back four. We'd get overrun in the middle.

Wonder if Hughes has thought of playing the increasing popular 3 at the back.Would make sense as our full backs are average at best.

Crouch is better, so no. I'd offer Crouch to QPR in a deal to bring Austin to Stoke. That's your opinion and I respect it but you're wrong,Lambert is better than Crouch in every dept Really???? How long has Lambert been playing in the Premier League (He's over 30 now). Crouch has been a far better player than Lambert and is currently playing regularly and pretty well and, before you tell me Lambert is at Liverpool, so was Crouch. I'd agree that someone should have given Lambert a chance earlier in his career but neither his past history or his current situation compare favourably with Crouch. There are several similarities with these two players but one still plays regularly and pretty well in the Premier League and the other one is Ricky Lambert.

Last time I broached the subject Bayern Oatcake was apoplectic that a 3-5-2 would never work. I tried it out in my FM save with no new transfers except Charlie Austin, and played Shea and Cameron as the Wing Backs. We finished third and won the League Cup. But what do I know? ????

If we should push through a deal for Lambert I would sell Crouch. Really can't see any points in having two good hold up players who are strong in the air, and both close to 35 years old too!

So why not stick with the one we already have? Even if Stoke consider Crouch a bit expensive at his age, I doubt Lambert will come any cheaper in terms of wages. For me, he'd be a like-for-like replacement who would be unlikely to do any better in our current set up.

In favour of Lambert I will say he is a more natural finisher, and he is much stronger than Crouchy. I would fell Lambert would suit us better than Peter, but I agree I would look elsewhere for somene younger and pacier.

To be honest rob, I think both Crouch and Lambert would be seen as 'alternatives' by our manager if he had all of his options available to him. I think Diouf (who he chased for some time) would be up front if Moses/Odemwinge were currently available and Crouch would be used more sparingly.

Bony won't go to Liverpool he only signed a new contract at Swansea last month........ thats it then, i forgot players under contract never move, and always honour them, nor do clubs who no a player is leaving get them to sign a contract to increase the transfer price.......bony wont be at swansea at the end of jan, spurs, arse and liverpool, all need a 15 goal a yr striker....and depending on his injury. man city could throw £20m at him as a short term fix until aguero returns I agree that no players honour contracts but no player leaves within months of signing a new deal, not unless there is a min fee clause in his contract Sent from my C6603 using proboards
