I'm a Lambert fan too.
He's basically a younger Peter Crouch, but isn't weak as piss and won't get bullied out of games.
I'm with Pugs, he'd be a great addition.

If he wants to keep getting picked for England,he won't want to come to Stoke will he?

There is no earthly chance Charlie Austen or Danny Ings coming to Stoke. The snobbery of some Stoke fans is breathtaking. I agree, Pugs. We have missed the boat on Austen and Ings. Lambert would be ideal for us, just as others who have been decried on here at various times would have been.

Why can't we playDiouf up top as the center forward? Get the lad off the wing and into the middle of things. He can hold the ball up, chases lost causes, and tracks back. He just needs a steady run of matches in the same position to come good.

He's rarely showed he can play the way we need him to up front on his own, if his touch was only half decent he'd have a chance but unfortunately its shocking.

But how often have we actually played him up top? Don't think the lad has been given a fair chance to show what he can do leading the line. When played up top at Hannover he was ace. He asks a lot more questions of defenses then Crouchie does.

Could you not at least put a question mark on the thread title instead of trying to create the impression there is something more than just your own fantasy attached to this piece of speculative nonsense.
Timewaster!

No, no, no, no, i think i remember that same response to a certain My Odemwingie! Lambert would be a great solution to short tearm goal scoring problems. He is more than capable of coming in and doing exactly the same job Odemwingie did last season.

Yes I have seen him play and he would do a good job for us. Nothing to do with England at all.
Liverpool made a mistake in buying him, that doesn't mean he's not good enough for us. Snobbery mate, my point proven.

Bony won't go to Liverpool he only signed a new contract at Swansea last month........ thats it then, i forgot players under contract never move, and always honour them, nor do clubs who no a player is leaving get them to sign a contract to increase the transfer price.......bony wont be at swansea at the end of jan, spurs, arse and liverpool, all need a 15 goal a yr striker....and depending on his injury. man city could throw £20m at him as a short term fix until aguero returns

A cheeky loan or even permanent? Makeweight in deal for Begovic? I think he'd do a good job for us. The only thing putting me off is that Lambert is 32, turning 33 in February. We need a young talent to come in and do a good job for us.

We could even make a financial case for it,as I am convinced we would make Europe with relative comfort if we had him here. Anyone else want a drag on this strange looking roll-up ?

We'd need a ridiculously hard working and mobile defensive midfielder and grafting wide men to make that remotely balanced.

Well SJW is a grafter so is Moses to a degree, Bojan could drop into the midfield 4 there is not a huge change to what we have atm.

I've never seen a centre-forward with a worse first touch.

I can remember vividly Dave Bamber trying to trap a ball in the centre circle at the Vic before running it out for a throw in on the Butler Paddock side of the pitch.
