I don't understand your point. Ness doesn't count as home grown as he didn't spend any of his formative years in the jurisdiction of either the English or Welsh FAs. Fair enough. Was just a theory as he was a most un-Pulis signing. They're only un-Pulis signings when they turn out to be crap

Mark Hughes: "We envisage Brek completing his move to Orlando. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but he was in the building yesterday trying to tie it up"
Looks like it's still on track.

Where does the money come from for Kaka's wages? Is Phil Rawlins still involved?

Where does the money come from for Kaka's wages? Is Phil Rawlins still involved? He's the President but a minority shareholder (I think) now. The main owner is some Brazilian bloke who is big mates with Kaka and I take it, absolutely loaded. They want to make Orlando, Brazil's second team. Which is a grand plan but they seem a determined bunch! And I know social media isn't a great way of judging these things but it does give you tangible numbers; Their English Facebook has 151,000 likes, their Brazilian Facebook has 712,000 likes. Our Facebook page has 378,000!

Hopefully the recurring nightmare I have had that involves Brek Shea starting a league game for SCFC will now end.
I would select Kofi Nyamah or Peter Kopteff ahead of Shea. I'd give Gerry McMahon a recall at whatever age he is now over Shea; a man who made Tom Soares look like Pulis had signed Messi.
Before anyone accuses me of being anti-American; whilst I do think Edu was a stupid signing and a very poor footballer, I am a huge fan of Geoff Cameron.

They have a great link with Benfica too, to the point they've taken two of their youngsters who are both current Portuguese youth internationals and signed them. We're way down the pecking, you've just got to read the article at the start of this thread the term "informal relationship" is used. I think sending some of our best 18/19 year olds to the MLS for a season would be a cracking idea myself.

Most American MLS designated player make around $600k ~= 490€k. Edu can earn more then $600k playing in the Championship, Turkey, or France. I was trying to post it should not be a shock he's on the MLS designated player list.

SentinelSounds like a very low fee, but with potential add-ons. Just getting rid of his salary was probably the best result we could hope for. Looks like Orlando are officially announcing it at 6pm

He can easily score a hat trick in the MLS and be back on top. MLS attackers most always struggle in the Championship. Eddie Johnson was the last to consistently start in the Championship. Eddie Johnson came back to the MLS, and earned a spot for the USA. DC United is not worried about Shea, Perry Kitchen shut him down last time. Stoke should have heeded my advice. Send him down to Leage1 or League 2. Shea could easily score a brace or two and makes some nice highlights, you could have had MLS teams bidding over his price. ( Even though MLS teams are not allowed to bid over players. Juan Agudolo's work permit?

If so, what's the delay in announcement? If he's not training, he's not going to be sharp for ages, is he?

A team of Stoke legends being formulated there - Lewis Neal, Ant Pulis and Brek. Not entirely sure that Brek's the best player amongst them - which says it all. It's a good job they don't do relegation over there.

That's was the idea of been at wolves untill some idiot made it public and highlighted what was happening with his passport application giving the authorities more time to find reason why he should not be granted permission. He is pretty much fit but obviously not match fit, as far as I am aware nothing will be announced till the new year

If he gets (or has already got) a Cypriot passport he IS entitled to enter and work in Britain and play football in England. Now, there is UKIP who would like to take us out of the EU and the Tories some of whom would like to remove the automatic right of EU passport holders to enter and work in the UK. But either of those things would require legislation and that is not going to happen until after the General Election - if at all. And, if he has (or gets) a Cypriot passport then he is going to be signed up to us (or another club) long before a General Election and new legislation.

Nothing to do with the FA finding reasons, the Cypriots could of found reasons not to grant him a passport, he is hardly going to be settling down their and helping their economy

If he's got the passport, just seems a bit odd that it's not officially been announced and training fully with the team.
The 6 wk time frame mentioned when he was doing whatever he was doing at Wolves would've been reached several weeks ago.
Okay, he can't join the 25 until Jan 1st(and he may not even feature much this season) but he clearly needs weeks of proper training after 6 or 7 months out of the game if he's to be be available or be an attractive loan option for a team elsewhere.
