Warning: Wrist slasher alert! Southampton played well. We more than matched them second half but couldn't find a breakthrough. Do we just expect to rock up at St Mary's and claim all 3 points?

Very poor today, massively missing Odemwingie, a goal scorer and a threat on the tight hand side. We have really got to go for it Wednesday! I had always said I would take a cup win over this league game but that performance was awful. On Wednesday Id go
Tommy Bardsley Ryan Wilson Muniesa Cameron Nzonzi Arnie Bojan (give him a chance) Moses Doiuf

Well that was shit, they were easily the better team but we made it much easier for them, Wilson was our best player overall, again.

Arnie has actually been shit since he came on. Really really shit. And that fucking hurts because we know how much talent he has He hasn't really created much, but nobody has. He hasn't been anywhere near "really really shit" though. Well, I think he has and I really really like him. Wrong options, poor execution, poor positioning, just poor all round. I keep the faith. He WILL come good I know he will!

We are no where near the heights we reached in the second part of last season. It's all a bit tepid and dare I say boring to be honest. We have too many players who are not quite on it and we are missing Odemwingie. Very disappointing.

They were the better team, and overall, we deserved nothing. If you watch the replay again, I'm pretty sure it was Wilson who fucked that header mate, I promise you. So you might want to reconsider that...

Do we just expect to rock up at St Mary's and claim all 3 points? we probably could have taken all three had we played with any intensity. Their tactics were pretty much spot on though as they defended and attacked with pretty much the whole team so when we had the ball they had 11 men in defence all the time. Hope for a better performance wednesday.

N'zonzi has been playing shit for most if the season and it's time he was dropped. I thought the midfield was utterly dreadful and as a team we were half a yard off the pace all game. Another shite away game up there with some if the worst, most frustrating performances I've witnessed. You're watching different games from me. That was a shit performance from Stoke but Nzonzi is a long way from being one of our main problems

He won't shoot when he does get forward and most of the time slows down our attacks and gives the oppo time to get back and defend when he should be making cutting passes forward. Very poor for me this season.

Overall we were very poor. The manager and players need to take the blame.

IMHO the catalyst that changed last season was Peter Odemwingie, we are really missing his enthusiasm drive and natural finishing ability. We look ordinary at the minute and totally incapable of scoring many goals. To be honest it's looking a bit tepid and dare I say boring.

May have to whisper this but just before that header Shawcross had a bit of a ricketts against Pelle which fortunately came to nothing. Luckily nobody noticed. But any sniff of a slight mistake by Wilson and he gets roasted.....

I know you are a big fan of his but he has been no where near the standard that is required. Some of the stuff aimed at him is over the top and borders on the stupid but he doesn't look half the player he was in the second half of last season.

Don't think we will get stuffed by anyone, but we just don't have any threat up front, totally relying on the crosses to Crouch. Nzonzi wasn't bad but there was a glaring occasion where we had four players breaking forward and he turned back, in away games you don't get many chances and can't afford not to at least test the keeper.

I honestly can't recall an away game under Mark Hughes where we haven't put together a clear cut chance at all in the match. The best chance we had as far as I can recall was Diouf nearly getting on the end of Bardsley's cross in the last 15 minutes and putting it a couple of yards wide. Absolutely dreadful performance and the fact it only finished 1-0 doesn't give a true reflection of the game, Southampton hit the bar twice, the post once and missed numerous other good chances and they barely had to get out of second gear for the vast majority of the game. There was no intensity and tempo to our game at all, everything was one paced and lacking in any sort of variety. Southampton are a good side but they are nowhere near as good as we allowed them to be today.

I didn't think we played that bad seeing Hughes had set the team up to play like that. We should have been a little more offensive when we had the ball but we had set up to soak up the pressure. Thought we defended really well and you have to hand it to Southampton. There not where they are in the league through luck. Can't understand the moans against Nzonzi for today's game. Some of his longer passing was superb. I've seen much better but I've also seen much worse.

Despite selling many players for big money they have also spent relatively big.
Man for man it showed - the team is suffering from under investment and lacks spark - stand still in this league and fall behind.
