Heard outside the ground yesterday that Arnie and Ballotelli were involved in some form of shananagain recently and that Hughes is well pissed about the matter, especialy as Hughes has instructed that he keeps well away.

Does anybody know if Hughes has a problem with Arni beyond his performance....perhaps a displinary affair? I haven't heard anything but on our long drive home we were wondering exactly the same thing. Including him in the squad seems pointless if he wasn't going to get on - the situation in the second half made him the obvious substitution for Walters - preferably as early as half time.

It would be a shame.....as he played an acceptable national game against Sweden....do you think, that Hughes is pissed of because of the interview Arni gave, that his aim ist to play at a bigger club anytime?...in my opinion, Arni should´nt have said that....not a big matter, nevertheless an expendable statement.

Yes, I think Arnie was daft to say that - especially as he did not start the season well. But I doubt if that is the reason Hughes did not bring him on yesterday. I think there is a problem but I think it will be a bit more serious than a press interview.

I'm sure any manager would love the fact that their players would be aiming for as high as possible, it would generally mean they giving it their all at the club they are currently at. At the moment though he is talking the talk but ain't walking the walk.

In that case I think Hughes was too late with all his subs. Eric looked injured/out of sorts by the end of the first half. I'd have had Muniesa and Arnie (for Walters) on at half time or soon after - and Diouf on with 30 minutes to go. And that isn't hindsight I said it at the time.

I would have still brought him on for Erik at that point 80 minutes, well on top and needing a goal! I said on another thread last night Hughes sometimes leaves his subs too late in the game leaving very little time to make an impact imo

I think the other thing wrong with the subs is that no way should Assaidi have been the first sub yesterday. Arnie may not have quite the pace of Assaidi but he has twice the football brain - when he can be bothered to use it.

Id have given Arnie the last 20 minutes for SJW having not been selected for the first eleven yesterday - and Id have told him to play up front off Crouchy

I don't think there's anything malicious behind it, he just didn't select him.

Just thought Id start a day or two early by his standards a ropey start but I'm expecting fireworks on satdee Leiciester beware if this absolute genius with a football, gets on the pitch at any stage I cant wait ! I like Arnie - at times he's a really good player. At other times he's too flash and doesn't put enough effort in, which is why he's on the bench.
