If Scholes has said what is being reported that smacks of him trying cover his own back.
He's basically saying its the manager fault that the player is not here, as the manager is the only person who would be able to say whether he would be playing or not.
I can't believe that tbh
Surely that would have been broached in the early stages of negotiating and therefore would have been the end of it there and then.
You can't blame the player if Everton are offering him first team football. No brainer really.

Wow, there's a lot of toy throwing on here,
I'll come back later when some of you have rocked yourselves to sleep.
Can't win em all. I would have chose Everton if I was him. Just have to accept it and get on with planning for the summer.

I am not sure Lennon would be a regular first choice ahead of Moses, Arnie and SJW. I honestly don't think he has shown any better form than Assaidi over the last 2 years; that said I did rate Assaidi, but not as our top wage earner and £6M+ fee. If Wingie comes back fit he would definitely be ahead of Lennon for me: Lennon does not score goals.
Aaron Lennon had the potential to be a top player 5 or 6 years ago. The fact that Spurs no longer see him as a worthwhile member of their squad shows how little he has progressed. He is probably on a massive pay deal and clearly thinks he is too good for us.
There are much cheaper, younger and better fits for our club out there.

Aaron Lennon to Everton (loan) with a view to buy.
Should Everton want to trigger the clause, then they have to either pay full whack or swap Mirrallas.
Spurs always wanted to do business with Everton...

If it's a choice between
1) Signing Aaron Lennon on loan and
2) Bojan coming back from injury a couple of months earlier than we originally thought
I know which one would cheer me up more.

We have Moses and Arnie for the left, and Walters, Arnie, even Diouf and then Wingie when he returns for the right... Lennon like Assaidi wouldn't have got guaranteed game time. I actually think it shows what a great position we are in, we can actually say: "You know what we didn't really need Aaron Lennon anyway..." Could you imagine even contemplate saying that 3 or 4 years ago?!

Very disappointed we didn't get him, we are very light on wide players with Arnie out of sorts, all it needs is an injury to Moses and we're fucked. Odemwingie won't be fit in time to make a mark on this season if he's not starting to train until April.

We're coming out of this window much lighter than we were going into it with Assaidi gone and Bojan injured. I'm a bit disgusted to be honest seeing as we clearly want a decent cup run.

Why would you be disgusted when you knew that our only signing of the window was likely to be Agudelo? You knew we would only be bringing in one cheap option and even though you were wrong, we did only bring in one cheap option (if indeed Wolschied is cheap). We've got a good squad of players which has several highly paid options who aren't regulars in the team. Until some of those are flushed out and off the wage bill, you have to expect transfer windows of this nature. I would have liked Lennon here and think we are a wide player short in our squad, but we can't have everything. We've got Moses, Walters, Arnie and even Diouf who have played wide this season and we aren't doing too badly are we?

The end of the season will dictate whether it was neglect or not.
Hughes said he was happy with his squad and that he was relaxed as to whether one extra body came in or not.
Maybe it was the managers decision to say "I want Lennon but if we can't get him, there isn't anyone else I fancy at this stage".
Time will tell whether we were right with our very selective approach to January transfer targets this year.

The wings are a problem - Arnie is bang average, Walters has no pace and is better in the middle and Diouf is a striker.
If Moses gets injured again or cant last 60 mins like what has been happening most of the season we are screwed.

Moses has been missing for quite a while until recently and we didn't do badly with the others did we? We had Assaidi then and he still never played him. I agree we are a winger light and it would have been great to see Lennon come in to the ranks, but we aren't desperate so could afford to be choosy with who we wanted to attract here. We didn't get Lennon and we didn't get Traore but we are fishing in the right ponds in my opinion. It is hardly neglect. Disappointing yes but not neglect. We will go on to have a very good season with the squad that we have as of this morning.

I'm not sure this outcome should be a surprise to anyone. Spurs want Mirallas. He will go there in the summer as part of the deal for Lennon. We are clearly looking for a winger hence the bid for Shaquiri. We made an offer. In the end the deal was complex and it went away. Football.
We still need a winger and hopefully now we will go in to full throttle on getting one in the summer. I do think we missed an opportunity to sign Gray this window but he was priced out in the end anyway. I suspect we will go abroad or possibly take another look at Redmond.
With regard to the squad, we are two forward players down this window. Walters has claimed the spot up top so there can be no passengers. Arnie and Diouf will need to have a good second half and Moses to stay fit if we are to secure a top ten spot. The cup will take care of itself. We can't count on Odem this season.

We needed one this window but if Moses goes in the summer, as looks likely, we will definitely need two. What's frightening, is that this is fourth consecutive 'window' we've spent nothing! The gaps in the team: striker, 2 wingers, DM still remain. Most clubs use 'windows' to build player-by-player so this is a big missed opportunity yet again!

We must be the lowest spenders in the league now. The job Hughes and his Staff are doing is nothing short of remarkable.

We have competition for every position and I'd rather Hughes go with the players he's comfortable with than stock pile a load of squad players. Would have been nice to have got someone in to freshen things up but the squad is as strong a squad as we've ever had and I fully expect them to push on and have a good cup run and a good end to the league campaign. The time to do our proper business is in the summer, until then we'll be fine with what we've got....
