It seems pretty inconceivable that we would sell our ever present captain and rock in the heart of defence 24 hours before the deadline day ends , we simply aren't equipped to do so , its debatable whether we have enough cover in that position already !
Unless we have someone lined up already , I think its bollocks personally !

Hang on - it was clear the £8m stuff was bullshit.
But are we now dismissing Homzy's tweets as well?

All those that bit to this bait should be ashamed and go to bed with no sex for a week. Been married 28 years, that will be standard in this house

Can't we post a Palacios to Everton rumour on Twatter - maybe if it gets as much attention as this it might become real?

Very unlikely anything will happen - but if Homzy tweets stuff like this, surely it's worthy of a hint of concern. He's not a bullshitter. It was always clear that the £8m stuff was pure fiction, and it was called unanimously as utter bullshit from the word go.

I'd imagine there's been 2 clubs interested in Ryan on most deadline days. I'm sure clubs are semi-permanently interested, Bayern. But to leak out as far as people like Homzy, surely things have to reach a certain stage of DEFCON. I don't think he'll go - but sounds like it's beyond DEFCON 5 and maybe inching towards DEFCON 4. Nowhere near Armageddon though, and doubt it will be.

Homzy is right Everton and Newcastle have tracked Shawcross for a while, but neither have placed bids nor will they as Stoke would want more than they would want to pay. Shawcross will be a stoke player come Tuesday morning

Hang on - it was clear the £8m stuff was bullshit. But are we now dismissing Homzy's tweets as well? I think it is credible that there is interest and maybe even a bid for Shawcross (not the Everton rumour, that is clearly shit) But I am 99% sure that we would not sell our captain and the backbone of our defence without a suitable replacement primed and ready, that would be very foolish and I credit our manager and owner with more sense than that. I do think any player can go for the right money, but in this case it would also have to be the right time, which this isn't. I think this one can be put to bed.

Shawcross will be a stoke player come Tuesday morning I don't think we have anything to worry about with either of those clubs. I think Shawcross would only leave for a clear step up, Newcastle would be a sideward step/step down and Everton do not offer enough of a step up in my opinion.

Of course after a match like Manchester City yesterday when Shawcross was every bit as good as Kompany was, someone would start silly rumours about him why would he leave a Team who he has lead for years, for a team that is very much a sideways step atm and he wouldn't be captain....Thats not even taking up the clubs stance, no chance in hell they would let our captain go so cheap and with no word class talent to replace him.
Shawcross is no doubt one of the best CD in the league which to state the obvious means the world....So it would be nothing short of right we would replace him with the same quality as him.
And on such short notice that aint going happen.
We have a chairman and a manager who wants to improve and go forward, and not treat the team like lets say Newcastle United.

Twitter is a load of crap I wouldn't believe a word of it lads. I like shawcross he's a decent player but can't see us going for another defender tbh Jagielkas confidence is shot at the moment but I think Martinez will play stones instead doubt he will kneejerk and bring someone in. For the guy saying we have no chance of champions league, I would say it's very small but don't let 3 games in fool you (Swansea will be nowhere near top come 10-15 games times), we drew all our 3 first games last season against much poorer opposition yet still finished 5th, we have scored 7 goals in 3 games against a stubborn Leicester side away, Arsenal and the Champion's elect Chelsea were we hit the crossbar and post twice and had one goal ruled offside. If we sort our defence out and attack as well as we did yesterday with the added players of barkley, atsu and pienaar who were all missing alongside a fully fit lukaku and eto'o and keep scoring 3 goals+ a game I massively fancy our chances with Utd,liverpool and possibly arsenal looking weaker this season. on Shawcross I respect Stoke alot as a proper football club I always say when I come on here so would never play the "my clubs bigger than yours" crap but the gulf between the top 7 and the rest is massive and will only get bigger with both Southampton and Newcastle weaker this season, I would be surprised if shawcross seen it as a sideways move but like I say I wouldn't come on here and give it the big'un! I'm not blinded by 3 games. I like Everton, wanted you to get into the Champions League last season and will do again if you're close to doing it, but you won't. Everton are a miles bigger club than Stoke but financially, if our owner wants to, we could outspend Everton easily. Big though the gap may be from 8th to 7th, and its huge, we still have as much chance of winning something as you. When was your last Cup Final appearance for example? Shawcross can do better than Everton and unless you're valuing him properly, assuming this latest interest is true (as I say you've tried and failed to get him 3 times before), you won't be signing him. Money isn't everything mate clubs like villa, Sunderland, QPR could out spend us but all 3 are a million miles off as perversely having to be shrewd with money has helped us build up a very good team overtime rather than what the likes of O'Neil did at villa and spunk £100+ mil on crap which has left them in a bad situation. I Dont know when those shawcross bids were put in but the past 12 months we have changed massively as a club. It was only 3 years ago today that we sold arteta, yakubu and Beckford due to financial problems and could only bring in the likes of royston drenthe on loan, fast forward 3 years to this window we have signed Lukaku, Eto'o, Barry, Besic, Atsu and Galloway to go with player's like Mirallas, Coleman, Barkley, Baines, McCarthy, Howard etc. Playing under a young attack minded manager I think the rumour has been proven false anyway like I assumed twitter is full of clowns!
