What's the plan to get this done?
Because when we score you aren't going to get people not to stand. And if it's persistent standing then they should be thrown out but people will stand up now and again and that can't be stopped.
Is raising the viewing platform a viable plan?

Not that I have ever used it but the disabled section is a bit of a joke really isn't it?
When constructed, surely the thought process would have been to provide disabled supporters with uninterrupted views of the playing area regardless of whether people in front stand or not.
That's Jez Moxey for you. How much does he earn again???

You'd find that it's probably just a small refactoring of the existing seats. Trouble is you'd have to move some fans that would be affected by this. Something the club must do if they fill in the corners and at least improve in the mean time.

Bear in mind that the disabled bays are where they are so as to be level with the ground outside, and they can't really be moved; they need to take out a couple of seated rows in front. I know from my SCWIM days how annoying the view gets for the people who have to use the bays!

The disabled area should have a position for each wheelchair to be strapped to and when stoke score a goal a member of staff could pull a lever which releases a coil under each chair that fires them up an extra 4 foot or so, ie like a jack in the box

We have a corner of the ground that is ready for building and disabled fans can't see the pitch, it's just not good enough. Get the corner filled in and incorporate a disabled area into it. Come on Stoke lets get it done.

Is there any proposed method of improving the view?
Surely just raising the current area by a few feet would suffice?

Unless they are put on the front row you will not prevent people from standing.

Unless they are put on the front row you will not prevent people from standing. Indeed. However there are other ways of ensuring everyone gets a decent view.

Agreed (not powered by northy though, he's getting on a bit you know, don't want him to do himself a mischief....)

The whole stadium is so badly designed, the architect must have been (possibly still is) clueless. It must have been forgotten on the original design.
Retro fitting a solution is going to be difficult and costly.

I'm an amputee myself and when I'm in a wheelchair I've never had a problem, I also love the seats they give us....better than most others at the Brit so I really have no cause to complain...

In general I agree with you - it's only the standing in front of I've got a porblem with and think that's what Linda's saying too, overall we do a good job on this imho.

I'm lucky I am more mobile than others....to be fair all they would need do so you got a perfect view where we get sit now to the side of us you got the railings where no one stands, if people in wheel chairs could sit there in their wheelchairs no one is infront to obstruct the view.

If it's persistent then the people should be bollocked and then chucked out if they don't adhere to it. But I've sat in front of the disabled bit before and you'd have to pay me to sit there again tbh. The bollockings you get when it's actually not your fault or you have the audacity to celebrate a goal, it's just not worth it. That's why other than raising them, I can't see what they can do? I wasn't persistently standing but I did get up 2/3 times through sheer forgetfulness. Does that sound immensely selfish? Probably so but I really can't see what can be practically done other than raising them. So what is the plan?

The most difficult problem to solve in the history of the Britannia stadium - Even more difficult than opening doors at HT for smokers (apart from the tanoy, obviously) It's what, 500 seats to remove two or three part-rows in front of all the bays? While it's not ideal - its almost certain 498 of the 500 would complain - I think its better than giving disabled supporters no choice on where they view the game (only one area, presumably in a newly created corner?) If I remember right, the problem with raising the height of bays was that the ramp would need to be "in the bay" which reduced the space available (problems for reversing, turning and so on) Is there a petition to sign? Is it on Bacefook? (minnie probably has the most workable idea )

"Raise it up a few feet"... How can you expect your disabled average fan to have the arm strangth to get up that far? The inclination would have to be so slight over such a massive area to include everyone that the ramp would have to extend out of the ground.
As I said earlier, the bays are on a perfect level to the entry point into the ground.
Anyone who suggests "professional pushers" needs banning from not just the Brit, but society as a whole.

My lad has cerebral palsy and will no doubt be using this section of the ground within the next few years (he's 4 at the moment) so any improvements are welcome for me.

Think yourselves lucky that you can get in and see something.
My mate had a severe stroke at the Spurs game in April and is not in a good way at all. He is desperate to see his beloved Stoke again while he still can.
He's been told by the Club that there's a waiting list for a spot in the disabled section.
FFS Stoke you can do better than this.
Rant over
