What a difference a game makes ? What a difference pitching the ball up makes! Particularly in favourable conditions on the first morning of a test. Let's be generous and say they've learned after the disaster at Lords. Great start - but once again the bowling attack is wrong. Just two front line bowlers. Of course, if we knock them over cheaply as Anderson and Broad could do, Cook and Moores will say they got the selection right. Only they aren't! But for nice, keep the pressure on; don't let the tail rescue the innings. Finn should be playing for Jordan for me

Madness to bat in these conditions. Madness. Surely Fletcher must have had an idea? I think Dohni is trying to project it as an attacking move , when in reality he is probably feeling a little more of the opposite

8 overs without a wicket - sort it out Cook!! No 3rd seamer - what we have are two 4th seamers. Flynn coming on first change would have been so much better. Obvious - except for the England management.

We've got to watch Bhuveneshwar Kumar in these conditions, he'll get plenty of nip.

Oh Alastair I never understand why most batsmen actually hook. It's such a risky shot for all but the very best. Cut it out and 99% batsmen will score more runs.

When the balls moving around and the games there to be had, the risk to reward ratio for that shot is too high. Silly cricket......

It's not a hook though it's a pull , a different shot , and normally it's a strength of Cooks 's ,if he doesn't play it he cuts down on his scoring opportunities greatly
