Cover for RB and cover for DM. Granted but would Geoff want to be considered as just cover?. The player himself will obviously be keen to play and I struggle to see where he would start over any of the others? Can see Geoff leaving unless Nzonzi is sold,

Same here Marc.
Id love Geoff to stay but nobody can hold it against him if he decides to move for guaranteed first team football.

Would of loved Geoff to be given a run in the side in Nzonzi's place just to see if what he says about been his best position is true. Seemed to play well for the USA there in that game in the World Cup, did well v arsenal aswell, but unfortunately having no decent Right back in the books meant is opportunities were limited. Be interesting to see if and where he goes, cannot see it been Hull as they want a RB and he don't want that position, could be Soton as he can pick where ever he wants they need half a new squad

I thought his position in the midfield would be more whelans slightly more defensive role?

Geoff's take on the rumours:
"I’m letting everyone else do the talking. As of now, I’m at Stoke and happy to be at Stoke. My focus is on my playing and working hard every single day to try to better myself and better my team-mates."

My focus is on my playing and working hard every single day to try to better myself and better my team-mates." That reads like somebody who's off to pastures new. "As of now, I’m at Stoke and happy to be at Stoke" That's footballer speak and actually means... "I'm currently a Stoke City player, i'm here and happy to be here until i leave the club before August 31st. I'll then be happy to be somewhere else"

I think it would be a mistake to let him go but obviously players hold the power nowadays and with the progression of football in the USA he needs to be getting regular playing time. Something we might not be able to offer him right now.

I hope we keep him - good player - who did himself no harm (nor us at the world cup)
if he goes - it would have to be a very decent price

About 7-8 million should do it...thats being realistic I reckon

Stoke went out and signed a journeyman RB whom most are penciling in ahead of Geoff in the starting XI, despite what was by most accounts a fairly good showing by Cameron in 2013-14. Sounds to me like the club held the power and used it.
