Is this based on something in the English press?
"Stoke City" does not intend to abandon the idea of buying midfielder "Dynamo" Andrei Yarmolenko after Purchase of Ibrahima Afellaya reports MatchDay.
According to the English source, the "Dynamo" is not set to sell its leader, but the British are planning to continue the fight for the player. Manager "Stoke City" Mark Hughes still wants to strengthen scorer of his team with two quick creative players.
"Stoke City" decided to increase the offer for Yarmolenko to 20 million euros, as informed yesterday "Dinamo" in an official letter.
Also, the British claim to Victor Moses from the "Chelsea".
Earlier it was reported that "Stoke City" refused to sign Yarmolenko and bought Ibrahima Afellaya.

There have been one or two sources (including the sentinel) which saw getting Affelay as an indication that Yarmolenko was a no no. I never saw it that way myself and I don't think many sensible people do. We may not get Yarmo but signing Affaelay is not connected, methinks.

Actually, this seems to be the source - MatchDay, which got the original story www.matchday.ua/news/stok-uvelichil-predlozhenie-po-yarmolenko-do-20-millionov-evro-33160/"Stoke" proposal on Yarmolenko increased to 20 million euros
The English club is going to get seriously Player of the Ukrainian team. The information spread by some media, that "Stoke City" rejected the idea of acquisition of Andrei Yarmolenko, was unreliable. According to the English source, the "Dynamo" is not set to sell its leader, but "Potter", and do not think deviate from its main objective in the summer transfer market. Manager "Stoke City" Mark Hughes still wants to strengthen scorer of his team with two quick creative players. Number one on the list - it Yarmolenko. For Dinamo, which Hughes calls a world class player, "Stoke" willing to pay a record amount in the history of the club. "Potters" have decided to increase the offer for Yarmolenko to 20 million euros, as informed yesterday "Dinamo" in an official letter. By the way another coveted player for Hughes to the position of winger - Victor Moses from the "Chelsea", which transfer rumors associated with the Kiev "Dynamo". In the last season he played for the Nigerian "Stoke" on loan. And the "potters" victims fiasco in the negotiations for Dzherdanu Shaqiri from the "Bavaria", decided to buy a shuttle Moses. However, this may be the complexity of the acquisition, as "Chelsea" Victor wishes to include in the part of the payment in the transaction of transfer of John Stones "Everton". Source: Matchday

If the Ukrainian claim that we've bumped the bid up very slightly to €20m yesterday with "an official letter" is true, hard to say what that tells us about where the process stands?
That Yarmo is agreeable if we can agree a fee with the owner?

TalkSportMark Hughes still working on record deal for Andriy Yarmolenko "We are interested in a lot of players, some of the deals we have thought we had done have fallen by the wayside and others are still ongoing," Hughes said.
"We will see them through to a conclusion, whether or not we make the decision to walk away or the player indicates that we are not going to be the club he chooses.
"There are still a number of targets that we are still very much in the mix for and we will see how they progress over the next couple of weeks.
"We had targets at the beginning of the window that are still ongoing, we are pleased with the business we have done already, we have got good players in the building but there is always that one player who you think can make a key difference so we will try and pursue that."

Hughes met Yarmo last week. We don't know where: in Ukraine or in England. Interesting and Hughes does seem pretty confident of landing a rock the city signing. He's mentioned it a few times now...that player that makes the difference. My concern is that we have signed 8 already, land the rock the city one and that will be us surely done.

That's a lot of money. Could he not be a replacement for the player they've sold to Sunderland, Lens?

This Paraguayan kiddie does seem to be very right-footed - so if they're going to play inverted wingers, he does maybe seem more of a Lens replacement than a Yarmo replacement?

Looks like the guy's ego just won't allow him to sell to Stoke.
And got to be doubtful if Yarmo would be prepared to ruffle feathers to force the issue given the way he was talking last week?
