I believe so but I'm shocked at this move as I expected him to go to Belgium. When asked where he was going last week he replied "Anderlect, Anderlect"! He's after you now...

Dunno when this Radio Stoke clip is from? Saturday maybe? audioboom.com/boos/3410224-stoke-boss-mark-hughes-on-his-pursuit-of-andriy-yarmolenko"We've expressed an interest, but we're not the only club. I haven't had an update today, so I'm not sure how it's progressing. We're in the market for good players but we understand there are other good teams that covet players of the level you're talking about. We're encouraged by conversations we're having, but it's no more and no less than that. We've just got to be patient and if they can be done, the club will try and make it happen"

I get the feeling this deal is still a bit beyond us. Similar to Shaqiri and Kono. I still think it's positive that we're trying though.
As long as the management team are realistic about it, and I'm sure they are, I don't see a problem with pursuing it.

I'm sure we'll pull one out soon. Hughes being here has certainly attracted a better type/standard of player. If we can get one then we can get another. Surely it a case of getting that one

Only if they come up with the money. Selling Draxler to Juve should cover the financials I see that Schalke's CEO has now said that Draxler is going nowhere (Sky Transfer Centre) - make of it what you wish!

We love a smokescreen more than the British Army do if this board and Twitter is anything to go by! And we loved a greasy Turk who could play anywhere across the front three, only problem was our manager at the time kept having Gallipoli flashbacks and banished him to Bolton.

No the two players I know for certain we are after both look like running on for a bit longer, due to press speculation highlighting their situation to other clubs. Traore and yarmo are both likely to come to stoke if other teams don't follow up the speculative interest Lets face it you know fuck all Haha quality! If today's business has proved anything it's that all these in the know folk don't know an awful lot do they! I know we have been in for him for a while but short term, not a peep from anyone. Just goes to show these things take time and these Oatcake 'sagas' have been so dramatic. I suppose it's wishful thinking hoping to see and end to it though.... P.s. I refuse to use that stupid acronym as I think it's so bloody cringeworthy!

SLP seem to be operating as SCFC representatives, they've gone rogue quite simply. Acting as some sort of elite proxy quasi official negotiation team. Setting up deals by themselves, negotiating with foreign sources. Do we have a codename for this operation..? 'Operation Appledrop' 'Operation Ironfire'

I think it's fair to say that Stoke keep their transfer dealings much quieter these days.
Even as late as this afternoon both the Sentinel and SL&P were suggesting the Afellay deal could be a smokescreen when in actual fact he must have already signed.
That's not me having a go at either, just stating that the club are far more discreet than in previous years.

I admit we have the only one we've got before the media is MVG and that was only 2 days before he signed. They've tightened up on info getting leaked which is a good thing in a way but not for us

The Times are reporting this morning that we have pulled out of the deal for Yarmo as Kiev refused to drop their asking price of £15 million.
Rubbish I hope. Putting 2 and 2 together with the Affellay deal and making 5?

The negotiations at the moment are beyond the clubs haggling over transfer fees...It's poor from The Times. If it doesn't come off this time around it won't be due to Stoke not offering enough cash

I'd put money on one of Shaq or Yarmo before the deadline with Traore as the 'insurance policy.'

He's contracted for 12 more months from now, he signed an extension last year, in his own words to prevent Kyiv losing him for nothing. I have it on pretty good authority that we offered £15mil last year, presumably after he'd signed his extension.

Apologies, he signed a new deal in October, we offered £15mil last summer to buy him out of the final year of his contract, which is exactly what we have done this time around too. It failed last year, he re-signed a new deal in the hope a better club would come in for him this summer after he'd won the league for Kyiv. So far they haven't..
