We are -1 on goal difference compared to the same point last season. Hardly a fucking disaster is it?

You're still dealing in insults! I think calling you daft was fair under the circumstances i don't because not once have you been correct with your facts, sir. I've followed benji's comments and often disagree with them but he talks a fair bit of sense!

I've followed benji's comments and often disagree with them but he talks a fair bit of sense! The fall down in benjis argument is he seems to be claiming that transfer fees are paid up front whereas signing on fees are spread. The truth is the opposite. Usually a transfer deal these days is paid in instalments. We don't sign a player for £5m and immediately hand the whole lot in used notes to the selling club. To an extent it's all wooden dollars. Lots of the top clubs in Europe owe each other outstanding unpain transfer fees.

No they bloody don't. We lost to Liverpool to a worldy. One goal. We were commended by the media for a great second half comeback against Spurs away and we were poor but got a point at Norwich. How does that bear out that we are weaker? The mind fucking boggles In truth, we are stronger in attack and weaker in midfield and defence but Ryan's absence explains the latter. It so happens against the same or similar fixtures last season we are 5 points down! Now, this is not an indicator of progress! How are we weaker defensively? Excluding Ryan's injury?

Again, my point is factually correct, yours is also factually correct. The truth is somewhere in between. Statistics often appear at odds but in truth they reflect the different shades of grey which is the truth. The truth isn't a fact! It still surprises me how many people think the 'truth' is a concrete hard and fast fact! It isn't, never has been and never will be!

This has completely hijacked the Yarmo thread so this is my last point re none Yarmo waffle on it.
I am going to look forward to re-posting some of the comments made by some on here IF we have a decent season and the New Signings improve in the same vein as Bojan last year. There were plenty with their knives out for our Spanish Magician!

Just letting you all know.. There's this Ukrainian lad that seems to be pretty good, nobody seems to be talking about him so I'm just going to say, his name is Andriy Yarmolenko and he is a winger for Dynamo Kiev and he could be rather good for us. Like I said nobody seems to be talking about him so I thought that I would bring up the topic.

The main problem IMO is Stoke has not done a good job of managing expectations which were very high. We ended last season with a 6-1 thrashing of a top team and made some high-profile signings in the Summer. So it was reasonable to expect we'd come out swinging. The line up and the first 20 min at Norwich looked fantastic. Unfortunately someone let the air out of the balloon and no one can figure out what happened. We've waited a long time to be this exicited about a Stoke team. Anyone younger than 50 has never seen this before at all So it's understandable that people are frustrated. . I keep telling myself this going to take time. I just hope we're not so far on the hole by Christmas that we can't climb out.

I've followed benji's comments and often disagree with them but he talks a fair bit of sense! I've not given any facts so again I have no idea what you're talking about. All I've done is pick holes in benji's constant complaining that we've not invested any more than 3.2 million.

Close your eyes for a moment and consider that, if things work out, Yarmolenko could be ours by 6pm next Tuesday night! That is just over five days time! Then consider what a 3 of Yarmo, Shaq and Bojan could achieve! We might get enough interest to fill in a corner for a start! OK, this is Stoke we are talking about so it probably almost certainly won't happen - but it will make for a fun few days thinking that it might! The icing on the cake is thinking how pissed off fans of clubs like Everton, Liverpool and Sunderland would be!

If we want him we should be making this happen, not waiting for it not to happen. Offer on the table shit is a safety net for Igor and Yarmo but does us no favours. Increase bis a bitd and then move on. We're just a stalking horse at present.

Yes, he can play on either wing -although his preferred position is as an inverted winger/striker on the right. For what it is worth, he can also play as a central striker and he's a big strong lad for a winger so I wouldn't bet against him being good as a central striker in the Premier league - remember Thierry Henry - a winger converted to striker? I think most of us accept that he ticks most of the boxes to be a success in England. If we can make it happen then we should. There is certainly the money in the budget to make it happen given the low(ish) transfer spend over the past few windows.
