They're much further into their training than us, they're a good side, all in all not a bad effort. Definitely upped the tempo on the previous games. A couple more weeks and we will be sharper, fitter and moving that ball around quicker.
Although this is no disrespect to Crouch and Adam, i feel less enthusiastic with them on the pitch.

I've lost interest since the Crouch and Adam combo was unleashed - back to the Pulis era. Yep, bang goes the mobility - got to give them all a run out though I guess...

I think you're right mate - we look like a completely different side since the subs.

Funny someone should mention Tex as the next Kompany.
Apparently that is very much Eddie's opinion of his potential.
Is he playing in midfield or centre half?

Looks like Diouf and Bojan will be competing for the same spot. Completely different players, though.

Textiera is very good, surprised at his pin point passing and physicality it's good to see.

Players are tiring. Understandable but far more positives than negatives. Sort out defensive set pieces and we're away.....

Begovic Bardsley - Huth - Shawcross - Muniesa -------------- Whelan --------------- -------------- N'Zonzi -------------- Bojan -------- Ireland -------- Arnie ---------------Diouf ----------------
Bench Butland - Wilson - Cameron - Sidwell - Assaidi - Odemwingie
I think we may start with something like that or swap Bojan and Diouf around. I could also possibly see Sidwell maybe replacing Whelan but that leaves two box to box and no real holding midfielder.

I think Arnautovic, Diouf and Bojan will all play and interchange through the game They didn't today though did they? Diouf played on the right , Arnie on the left and Bojan played as a false number 9. I can definitely see all three starting again but they all knew what role they had to perform this evening.

With Tex he can work on his defensive duties, he has the ability, the physique etc... to be a beast. Remember Shawcross wasn't the man he was now when he first started.

Played a lot better than I would of expected against a very good Schalke side.
Can't complain really, been mostly on par with them for 80 odd minutes
