I think it's been proven in the past throwing large quantities of money isn't always the right way to go
Arnoutovic, Ireland, Bojan, Pieters and Muniesa to start with cost considerably less than Kenwynne
I know which I'd rather have in my team..

i reckon our outlay so far for next seasons transfer fees is about 4 million.not exactly going for it are we ? It's not even that. 6 figure fee's for two players - Bojan and Texeira. 1.5M tops in fees.

I like the way were doing business though it would be nice to spend money on the odd gem. I think the players we've got so far will certainly be worth more at the end of the season than when we bought them. It's only because of the length of there contracts we got them so cheap.
Diouf - Potential 10m player Bojan - Sky's the limit Sidwell - 4-5m player Bardsley - 4-5m player Tex - A lot of potential

i'm more than happy with the way we go about our business, if the banks called in all their debts tomorrow half these big time charlies who throw money around like it's going out of fashion would go straight out of businees.
I wouldn't swap any other simalar clubs business for ours this transfer window so far,m we are making a mockery of their spending on average joe players

I preferred it when we were spending significant fees on shit players from Sunderland with no resale value.

I think that our new transfer policy is sensible AND is already bearing real fruits. £1mill tops for a potential world-beater in Bojan, a proven goalscorer in Biram Diouf, two experienced pros in Sidwell and Bardsley and another potential defensive colossus in Teixeira is nothing short of astonishing really.

This transfer team & policy is the nuts and we will start to see the real fruits of it in a couple of seasons when some of these players we have started to bring in begin to turn heads & gain attention, it's only a matter of time before we see the first major profit of a player we bought for peanuts the way these transfer fees are going. it's obvious what is happening, we are planning to become a breeding ground, bring players in for peanuts and sell them for major profit, shrewd as fuck if you ask me, it'll be a major earner for the club & this is how it will become self sufficient. The first seeds have only just been planted.

Transfer policy is the correct one for now - the club shits money but has to rebuild the balance sheet after a major loss posted over 1 year ago
continue with the policy as it stands now and we will truly be awash with money
as someone else said
poor bait ray

We are paying more in wages now than at any other point in our history. And if we say Pulis spent £100 million in 5 years then Hughes & the transfer network should be on £40m by the end of this summer but he's on what? Approx 5 or 6 million? Lets's not forget the revenue has increased as well.

We spent nowt has to be a good title for a song when winning against the biggest money wasters. 5 million pounds five million pounds, you spend 50 mil, we spend 5 what is the score, what is the scorrrrrrre ( insert appropriate area wankers)......... what is the score

You've got to be a bit of a numb nuts to pick fault with Hughes's transfer dealings so far. There will be signing on fees and wages with every player, whether he cost £10 million or a free transfer.
I would say the value for money these last 12 months has been unequalled by any other manager anywhere

sidwell and bardsley are average, diouf and bojan are gambles, the young brazilain wont get near the first team. we should be spending big money on at least one proven player .

5 players in, average wage £30k per week, equates to £1.5 million each per annum, so £7.5m per annum in total wages, average contract duration 4 years, is a commitment to £30 million over 4 years, add in £2 million of transfer fees and another £3 million in agent and signing on fees and there you have £35 million committed over the first 2 months of the summer.

Previous transfer dealings:
Peter Crouch - £11 million Wilson Palacios - £6 million Dean Whitehead - £5 million Jon Walters - £3 million Dave Kitson - £5 million Seyi Olofinpyjamas - £3 million Kenwyne Jones - £8 million Recent Transfer dealings
Bojan Krkic - Nominal Phil Bardsley - Free Steve Sidwell - Free Marc Muniesa - Free Erik Pieters - £3 million Marko Arnautovic - £2 million Mame Biram Diouf - Free Peter Odemwingie - Swap deal
Yeah I think I prefer the not spending a great deal and looking abroad strategy.

It's about the right deal for the right players. There's no obligation to spend stupid money if you can get good quality in for less.
The wage bill is another matter of course - I wouldn't be complaining about the Coates' backing right now.

I've never understood the clamour to line the pockets of our rivals to be honest.
If we can keep getting players like Arnie, Odemwingie, Muniesa, Pieters and Ireland for small or no transfer fees at all then the job's a good 'un as far as I'm concerned.
