After constantly slagging Pulis off when the capped one was here Id be astonished if N'Zonzi accepted a move to Palace. Any evidence to back this up? He never gave any reason to why he handed in the transfer request when Pulis was here. All we had was heresay and internet rumours and just because something is on the internet does not make it true. Nzonzi has handed in a transfer request 3 seasons on the trot now. He won't go Palace but it won't be because of Pulis.

If it was left to some people every time one of our players got a bit unhappy they'd get rid of them, the comments I see when it's rumoured one of our players is supposedly unhappy is remarkable, "Fuck him off" "Fuck him Stoke don't need him" and my personal favourite "We'll sign better than him" which in the case of some unsettled or unhappy players, I'll use Jerome and Palacios as examples, that last remark might be true, however reading those things about N'Zonzi doesn't sit well with me at all.
When he signed we had a midfield that was completely devoid of the ability to pass the ball to a teammate, it was more content to lamp it forward aimlessly or most of the time, was completely overlooked as we fired howitzers from the back towards Jones & Crouch, N'Zonzi came in, got his foot on the ball and showed us, wow, we can keep possession of the ball after all, in this game sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, yet after a few games he started to get grief for playing it backwards or sideways, our fanbase somehow can't grasp that that simple pass means we keep possession of the ball a bit longer, rather than twatting it forward only for an opposition centre back to head it clear.
The most common criticism I see of him is that he "slows the play down" now this point I won't argue with, he did used to slow the play down, the key word there is used, after his spell out of the team last season, he returned and looked a completely different player, he was involved in everything, he even popped up with a brilliantly taken goal at Villa and was actually playing with a smile on his face, he wasn't scared to try and create something, he even admitted in an interview that he despised losing the ball and always looked for a simple pass rather than lose the ball, however Hughes told him to be more adventurous, he knew there was a superb player in there somewhere just waiting to be unleashed and he acted on it, however this admission resulted in yet more grief from certain sections of our "support" "Grow some bollocks you moody cunt" "Maybe you'll stop messing our attacks up now".
I genuinely believe some fans actually want a return to the doldrums of English football just because we'll have honest pros who work aaaard running around like a selection of tits in a variety of trances, talented players always have complex personalities, and if they're an integral part of your squad, which N'Zonzi is, you work with that personality, that's how you earn your stones as a manager, not by getting rid of them, certainly if a player came knocking at my door saying they weren't happy for several understandable reasons, I'd do my best to resolve the issue.
N'Zonzi has his moments don't get me wrong but the majority of the time he's a fine player, and he only cost us £3.5 million, and anyone who thinks we can get a player even half as good as he is for anything even close to that price I'm sorry but you're deluded.
We don't deserve this level of football if we're apparently completely fine with the idea of getting rid of one of our best players, I'd crawl across broken glass to keep N'Zonzi here, so show him the support he fucking deserves rather than putting him in the hated pile with Arnautovic for being a bit difficult sometimes, otherwise he might as well leave and go to a group of supporters that actually deserve to watch his talent.
There's definitely a legacy alright, it'll take years to get rid of this view of some players that fans have because they don't run around aimlessly and have close to no footballing ability at all.

Very well put. Would agree with all of the above

I'm glad to see that lots of people have already shown their appreciation and support for N'Zonzi as a player.
He is a high quality football player.
I personally think he is probably the best midfielder to play for Stoke since Alan Hudson.
I have to add that I don't believe he is in the same class as Hudson.

Not sure what is up with N'Zonzi. He's playing in a successful side and playing well. The only reason he would go to Palace surely is because he wants to be in London. Strange

If Pulis is chasing N'Zonzi, Pulis will catch him...! N'Zonzi really started to slow down towards the end of the season. Bad attitudes spread like wildfire in a working environment. Palace and Pulis are welcome to him. Is this supposed to be a poem written in blank verse? It was a Haiku, 5-7-5. Not to be confused with a Stoku, 4-2-3-1. Pulis wants our Moody Grumpy French GIt

Stoke's weak link at the moment isn't the goalies, we have several, not the defence, we have maaaaany defenders now, not the strikers, we have added a couple at last and not even the wingers perhaps anymore... but central midfielders?
Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed. Still need to see how Bardsley does at RB. I think he'll do well personally. Still not sure who will partner Shawcross at centre half. Not sure Huth will get back to what he was, and Wilson made ample mistakes when covering. Personally I'd like to see Muniesa thrown in there and given a proper chance. The kid oozes class, and has the attitude and comminment to go with it. Whelan was superb last season but I'd be looking at a replacement or at least younger cover for him after this season. Still think we need a RW, and Assaidi. As for NZonzi, I would be fuming if he left. Absolute class act. No one could fill for him if he left. Sidwell can do the role but doesn't have the physical presence. Cameron is the nearest to Fonz as we currently have, but as much as I love him, he's not on the same level as NZonzi. We couldn't get anyone as good as NZonzi for double the money we'd get for him. We mustn't sell him. Fortunately, I don't think Palace would pay what he's worth. Even with tone at the helm.

Why would Nzonzi 'drop down' in terms of the standard of team, and play a style which doesn't utilise his skills as well? No disrespect to either TP or Palace btw.
