Looks like this dude is about to sign. 16 year central midfielder recently released from Barca. SLP have mentioned it today that a foreign youngster is signing and Mezza mentioned this fella in mid August. It hasn't been confirmed but basically on Twatter Cabellero has recently followed a Manchester based Spanish lawyer who in turn has recently followed Stoke. Tenuous, yes but it fits nicely!

The puzzle fits for me Bayern. Do we know if he's any good or is he completely unknown?

I've never heard of him and I like to think I keep a decent grasp on the Barca youth teams but yeah I've never heard of him!

I heard a snippet of Sky Andrew on Talksport yesterday, in the conversation he mentioned 'looking after', 'the best forward of his age in the world': Julian N'Goy {sp?} a young Belgian lad at Stoke. Was this just agent hyperbole? How old is he etc? anyone seen him play, any thoughts or reports. Or do I need my ears syringing?

We beat Real Madrid, Arsenal, Man Utd and some others to his signature. He could of been an Olympic sprinter. He is extremely strong/athletic and skilful. These are just a few things I've heard about him since he has been here. Obviously the club wont bang the drum too hard in case it all goes tits up and he turns out to be nothing but, in all honesty, there's not been a player so highly rated through-out Europe at youth level since the likes of Ronaldo & Bale, it seems.

Little word of warning......he is on Sky Andrew's books! But he does look decent! Still not got his clearance yet though from the lack of game time he's getting.

How weird it is that in this era you can have U-21 internationals on the books who the bulk of fans have never heard of - let alone have any expectation that they'll ever threaten a first team appearance!
Strange days

Further to the talk of Alabi on the loan thread, just wondering if there's any feeling that any of the current U-21 squad will get another deal? Don't suppose it's unique to Stoke either - but with our Academy playing catch-up, our U-21 group is probably going to be weak for a few more years yet? Even the better players seem to be just placeholders to keep the U-21 pool topped up, numbers-wise. Shenton seems to have been identified very early as an exception. Suppose it's really hard to work out what to do with them if they're not quite up to it (which is going to be 95% of them when you're a Premier League club) - and you just have to release them en masse to make space for the next generation of hopefuls. Although maybe there is the chance of a late bloomer emerging. Retained list Summer 2014The Club can confirm new contracts have been offered to Sorensen and to youngsters James Alabi, Dale Eve, Alex Grant, Jack Nardiello, Ryan O’Reilly, Adam Thomas, Mason Watkins-Clark and Elliot Wheeler.

Must still be waiting on international clearance I guess. Which is annoying....

Does N'Goy exist?
He's becoming a bit of a Keyser Soze figure.

N'Goy played for the U18's, he is alive!
Gyollai's gone off on international duty after another clean sheet as well.

Some Bego-esque saves in there, like the one near the end in particular. Our entire back 4 looks bloody useless though!

Shenton's birthday in 3 days, 17 will be the wee boy. Get him on the bench. Rooney was 16 when he scored that goal against Arsenal. Get him in!
