Never been more unimpressed by our RB and CB partnership for England since I can remember. Cahill isn't the answer.

Not unless Woy goes and the media are stopped from writing crap to influence the new manager.

Surely he will be picked now!

You'd think oggy. Feckin Jagielka has no leaps and Cahill switches off.

He will not be picked unless he leaves stoke, doesn't matter who the manager is.

No and I don't want him to be. Playing for that shower of shite would damage his already "bad" reputation and mess up his confidence
He should jut forget about England so the spotlight doesn't get put on on him.

Shawcross needs to get some friendlies under his belt now and prepare to be a starter in the Euros.
Anything is better than that load of shit.

You must be one of those 'bedwetters' Whats wrong with wetting the bed? Its more natural than England's off the ball movement.

Cahill was our only defender tonight. He doesn't deserve all the shit he gets. Cahill did everything tonight and eventually got caught out by a shrewd suarez, which i think was when he was in jagielka's position.

Ryan is best off as far away from that shower of tossers as possible. There isn't a defender worthy of the name in that squad.
Because of who he is and who he plays for he'd never be cut any of the slack the likes of Cahill and Jageilka repeatedly have.
Ryan gets done by one of the world's best defenders in a 15 minute appearance and is slaughtered. Cahill gets done by Kenny fucking Miller and will probably go on and win at least 70 caps.
And while I'm on, Hart isn't fit to lace Asmir's boots.

Reminded me of Shawcross when our back 4 was makeshift earlier in the season, he stood up to be counted.

Ultimately, three of the four goals we've conceded this World Cup have come directly from a central defender switching off and ball watching instead of sticking to their man (Balotelli and Suarez). Who knows, maybe Shawcross wouldn't have made those boneheaded mistakes.

I reckon we'd all be saying 'Shawcross wouldn't have made that mistake against Ibrahimovic' if Jagielka had done it. But it really does make you wonder if he is that much worse to what we have now.

I'd have Cahill-Shawcross as the cbs for England everyday... Cahill Jagielka is onesided imo.

Exactly. Aslong as Shawcross stays a rock for us like he has been since he arrived I couldn't care less if he plays for England or not

Cahill had an excellent game, and has had an excellent season, sorry if that doesn't suit the shawcross agenda.
Jags is the one who isn't up to it but to be fair to them both they are trying to defend without a right back. Johnson is absolute dogshit as a defender.
Remember that even shawcross and huth struggled when we had no full backs last season.
