Complete new side from Wednesday night or a mixture of that and the Peru game ?
Tonight could give us a big insight to the Italy game

Just curious -- is there any particular reason England have chosen Honduras for a final tune-up? Just seems like an odd choice unless it is purely for the gate proceeds here in Miami.

I would think he will field something like his best line up. Last bit of competetive practice before Italy.

South and mid American opposition ( Honduras and Ecuador ) to to give a rough guide as to what to expect v Uruguay and Costa Rica ? And Miami to aclimatise to Manaus I reckon

They aren't a great footballing side and CAFU teams can be particularly nasty with bullshit challenges when things don't go their way. Hope I'm wrong but I think England have a decent chance of picking up a few knocks in this one. You have an interesting group and while Costa Rica is probably circled for each of the other three sides as a must win I don't know how much England will get out of playing Honduras. Half of beating a CAFU team involves not getting injured by their BS challenges or being sent off when they simulate being assassinated. The lone CAF exception to this, IMHO, is Panama. EDIT: Forgot the U in CAFU

Tonight will just be about Woy/England painting over the cracks. Stick 3-4 past these tonight and everyone is smiling again.
We should be starting the team that played against Ecuador tonight - we'll learn nothing but, hey ho..

I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same side that he played v Peru with Welbeck back in - and you'd have to think that'd be what he's got in mind for Italy.
Suppose the one curveball in the XI v Italy could be Raheem Sterling though?

What's the point really? This is a lose-lose situation. If England go out to win and pick up injuries they've lost! If England play carefully to avoid injuries we could lose the match. When the real deal is so close what's the point. Wayne, Lamps and Stevie G will be cream crackered before the tournament even starts?

Every soddin England game we see a different team turn up. Every new manager tries different players. Squad rotation , different tactics , different formations but the end result is always the same ....Bugger all success in every competition since 1966 .
How can we expect anything with this constant repetition of inconsistency. If we have any hope of success or rather if we want to achieve maximum potential then we need to keep a settled team every game we play. Fucking about with different players at this stage of affairs can only suggest he doesn't have a fucking clue as to what is his best first team. All those teams like Germany and France who have actually won things have always kept a settled squad of players barring the odd injury or suspension. We should do the same , but we never do. In short we're clueless.

I hope that at sometime tonight we should see the starting XI for Italy. Either start the game in full first XI mode or make sure the the first XI are on the pitch together for the last 30 mins. Personally I'd go with the second scenario. Start with a few fringe players and when the game has calmed down make the subs and tactical changes to set up how we we'll start next Saturday. Don't worry about the scoreline. We can't afford injuries but the starters need proper game time together. Anyway, it's not exactly rocket science as to who will be first choice give or take one or two selections. I should imagine that as soon as the groups were announced each team will have had scouts at all the rivals friendly games so there's not much to hide. The whole world has been watching Prem footie since August and they know the England players inside out. England 3 - Palacios 1

Same team as Peru by the looks of it. Barring (maybe) Sterling for Welbeck, this looks like Woy's favoured men
England team v Honduras : Hart Johnson Baines Gerrard (c) Cahill Jagielka Henderson Rooney Lallana Sturridge Welbeck
