Not a bad player, good set pieces but where on christ would he play in Sparky's system? Not really a wide man in this system because he lacks pace and a goal threat from open play (Saturday excluded...).
He has been playing in central midfield but again, not really sure on that one.
I trust Hughes implicitly so i'm certain this is just paper talk.

Why might he want to move from Sunderland to Stoke I would, but then I am a Stoke fan

Personality wise i can't stand the tosser, ability wise don't think that he could improve the first team.

Weird one.
We'll need two wingers and if the other one is Assaidi or someone like him then someone like Larsson as something different could be a good idea.
I don't like the sound of a lucrative contract though, he's not worthy of that.

Hmm, don't quite know what to make of this "if true". Good player but do we really need him? With Charlie and Ireland challenging for attacking midfield, arnie, oddie, and assaidi (if he joins us permenantly) challenging for wide areas, would Seb be happy to be a squad player? Can't see it myself.

Don't quote me on this as I scarcely remember everything from January, but I think we may have enquired about him in the last window. Will try and check.
I'd take him as a squad player though definitely for the right price.

Nah.
Smells like another Mirror bullshit story to me.
Would also be slightly worrying if we are going back to signing Sunderland rejects.

The Mirror arent great at doing any sort of research are they, as others have said he would surely be not suited to our system or needed for our squad anyway

Weird one. It's John Cross and you'd presume he has some decent sources and might even know Larsson given the Arsenal connection.
Have to echo the Onlooker though - he's always been best in wide roles but he's not the sort of wide player we play in our set up.

Yeah - the fact it's a John Cross story leads you to believe there's probably something in it.
Obviously his Bosman-ness is attractive to anyone - but particularly to us in this brave new world, it seems.
But it does seem a very odd one. God knows where a player with his attributes would play in this Stoke set-up.
And if he really has got his pick of sizeable Bosman suitors (which does seem surprising after a largely underwhelming spell on Wearside) we'd be paying him a monster salary to be a fringe player, which seems strange all 'round.

He's alright, but he's not really the sort of inside forward type with an eye for goal and pace on the break that we're employing, is he? If we do sign him, I hope he learns how to stand on his feet when a player goes near him.

Could he be our new right back?

Could he be our new right back? This. There's not many better crossers of the ball. Fairly quick and isn't afraid of getting stuck in. He has played right back many times before. To me, he's a better right back than he is a right winger or a center mid. Very flexible player.

Am I right in thinking he's slow?
Overtaken by a milk float-type slow?
I've always thought he had a touch of the Bjarnis about him

Fuck me here comes another one that's written off on here before he signs
Add Odimwingie to that list and don't forget the shit Arnie and Assaidi got on here after TWO games each
Yep.....that's the same three players who tore the Fulham defence a new arsehole yesterday so yeah let's write Larrsen off
Like I said at the beginning ....Fuck me

I wonder if he could be moulded into the holding mid/gerrard/whelan mk II sort of role...he's got a good range of passing and is good a set pieces...he's a fair tackler (he started off a defender)...now he's lost his real pace, it could be a viable option...I'm not overly ecstatic about the thought of him taking up our wage budget, but I'm reserving judgement based on the previous window where I've had to eat my words

In a Pulis side I would snap their hands off for him....
In a Hughes side I'd have to say "no thanks!!!"
