On Sky the fella who is at Stoke said the club have said the deal for Assaidi is nowhere near imminent. My guess is Stoke are lining up Assaidi as last resort if all else falls through; better him than no one.

I'm struggling to see where Assaidi would play as he's not a natural replacement for PO

I'm struggling to see where Assaidi would play as he's not a natural replacement for PO Id have to agree with you there. Assaidi aint going to go down the line if needed, plus whereas PO can hit with both feet, Assaidi is painfully one footed. Out of all the rumoured players that are being linked, Sinclair is probably the one who could play the PO role, as well as probably being the best technically.

Definitely looks like he's the Plan B if they can't get Lennon over the line?
Keith Wales @sentinelsported Assaidi not a done deal. Could happen, but sources on Merseyside are premature in saying it is. Not clear he's even Stoke's principal target

He really set the management aghast at his high wage request after we got him a household name I feel. If we can't get lennon or Redmond I bet the pizza brigade have him on speed dial, after pizza hut of course.

I'm a little disappointed that we are still stuck on Assaidi, especially with the other players that have been on the move to some of the clubs around us in the premier league. Abel Hernandez and Andre Ayew being two examples.

Assaidi is good for me. He is good backup on either flank.

Stuart James ?@stuartjamesgnm 4m
Oussama Assaidi loan from Liverpool should be confirmed soon, & Stoke say that'll be their lot (regrettably - they'd like to shift a couple)

Lennons a london lad, QPR will spunk money on him. Sinclair hasnt done anything for years! Assiadi is by far our better option. Get him in!! People will moan no matter what happens but its what he does on the pitch that will count

Assaiid and his agent are greedy bastards of the highest order. If he does come back and he does not hit the ground running he will get some right stick.

To be honest, if the original source from today was The Echo then that should be taken as gospel. They are one of the more unique local newspapers in the sense that they usually receive all Liverpool news before any other media outlet - including the likes of Sky, BBC etc.
We may well be enquiring about other players as there is always a good deal to be snatched on deadline day but I would think Assaidi is a Stokie, again.

Don't understand why Assaidi is being singled out for abuse 're being greedy. What has he done that's demonstrably different to other players? Clubs and players play the transfer game all the same.
I understand if fans don't rate him, that's a different argument.
Personally I think he's decent and think he would be fine on the right. I think Lennon,Redmond would be good too. Be happy with any one of them myself.
Ossie n loan and then snatch an out of contract Yarmalenko next summer might suit?

Hope we don't sign the greedy twat. Whys that? Also I'm sure if he scores another winner like against Chelsea you'd be gutted too. He obviously does not have a passion to play football, has not actually made every effort to find a new club already. He seems willing to sit on what he earns at liverpool.

If he really wanted to sign for us he could have done weeks ago, we were willing to fork out 7 million for him, but he wanted silly wages.
That is why he is getting stick.

I don't dislike Assaidi, but I just don't see any sense in signing him now we have Moses.
He's supposedly unfit, he'll be off for a month (or more) in January, and it's yet another player who prefers playing on the left.
Lennon would have been perfect.

Can't believe how many wankers we have on here. Calling assaidi greedy?
What like lennon is offering to walk to the potteries is he? He will want more than assaidi plus won't want leave London.
Unbelievable jeff.
