Much prefer Assaidi to Sinclair but would prefer Lennon over both. The reason i find it disappointing that we are signing Assaidi is because there are much better players moving or on the move to similar teams as us. Why are we stuck on him, we should of moved away from him when the deal broke down the first time and scouted other options.

Don't understand why Assaidi is being singled out for abuse 're being greedy. What has he done that's demonstrably different to other players? Clubs and players play the transfer game all the same. I understand if fans don't rate him, that's a different argument. Personally I think he's decent and think he would be fine on the right. I think Lennon,Redmond would be good too. Be happy with any one of them myself. Ossie n loan and then snatch an out of contract Yarmalenko next summer might suit? Assaidi wanted to DOUBLE his £25k wages and if Yarmalenko gets to the end of his contract there will be dozens of clubs want him on a free.

I don't dislike Assaidi, but I just don't see any sense in signing him now we have Moses. He's supposedly unfit, he'll be off for a month (or more) in January, and it's yet another player who prefers playing on the left. Lennon would have been perfect. Back up?

Yeah, but how far is he behind in terms of fitness? Then in January he'll be off to the African Nations. and as I said before, it's another left winger. I don't really see what we'd be getting out of it now. Same would apply to Scott Sinclair too.

It's like getting back with an ex you weren't particularly fond of, you've moved on but you're still desperate for a shag and can't be arsed to work for one.

I think you're kinda answering the question for him now, you're suggesting that Assaidi could be good as a late sub, when Pickles is suggesting that Lennon would have been good as an actual starter.
If Lennon hadn't been in contention then I don't think too many people would have raised an eyebrow at Assaidi coming in as an emergency cover for Odemwingie but now that Lennon has appeared so close, Assaidi just becomes a little underwhelming.

IMHO I believe that if Assaidi has a sustained period at a club where he is appreciated he will turn out to be an excellent first team player. I hope that it is with us. If he did come here and performed then the financial shenanigans would be forgotten.

I just don't get the gloom. We have plenty if options up front (too many according to some) and didn't expect us to sign anybody today.
So the addition of Assiadi on loan is just a low risk, extra option, bonus.

It's all systems go for Assaidi by the look of it, Marko will be driving him down

One we don't need to make.

I don't mind Assaidi on loan again. I would hate to think that we signed him permanently on a reported £50k a week! He's only on £25k at Liverpool.

Assaidi can do-one as far as Im concerned. Priced himself out of a permanent move allegedly due to greed and now wants in through the door again. Is he worth being one of the highest paid in the club (allegedly). The answer is a sure-fire no. Personally, I would rather stick with Moses / Walters / Arnie than bring billy big bollocks in who is a featherweight and easily bullied by centre-backs
