Wiki saying 1m 93 = 6ft 4ins and that is just about right, maybe plus or minus 1 cm... Size matters!

A homegrown player is a player that has spent 36 months before his 21st birthday within the English FA rules, can have played for 12 clubs it makes no difference as long as they all been with clubs under the rules of the English FA

Aren't Begovic & Huth classed as home grown though with them spending all their career in the Premier leeague? Yes they are Adam Has anyone got an up to date list of the "home grown" foreigners at Stoke? We've got the English born players plus: Huth, Bego, Whelan, Ireland (I think) Wilson (I think) - anymore?

Re being in the squad, it's being under 21 on a certain date, that's why Ness got away with it, not sure who falls into it this time.
Wilson and Ireland are homegrown, both spend their formative years in English academies. Same for Bardsley, Whelan and Walters.
Danny Collins wasn't homegrown because he started his career late!

No idea why shots is not on the list, just got this of a website listing all the clubs designated homegrown players

Yes he has, we were told weeks ago he had. Stoke may never confirm the signature, as the majority of the time they never say anything about Academy players, and I see him as been loaned straight out to get used to the English game

I suspect that means he has to be named in the 25 if we want to play him. I'm not sure of the exact rules but if he's 22 before the season starts I don't think he can be counted as under the age limit. Jamie ness was 22 at the start of the season and he did not need to be included, I think it's 23 years and over you have to be named Jamie ness wouldn't need to be included any way ! Easier to get a glimpse of the Loch Ness monster than of him !

They'll need a wide angle lens to fit all our new signings on one photograph at this rate.! The club is busy acquiring if the media are to be believed, and if successful (3 new forwards?) there must be a shed load of disposing to be done. What are the chances of the 4 Stoke players on display at the World Cup being sold to the highest bidders? There must be hundreds of managers/senior scouts world wide watching, and virtually everyone who puts in a good performance must be in line for bids.

Just found this article about him www.infoesporte.com.br/noticias/avai/mercado/26052012/conheca-a-nova-promessa-da-base-do-avai/"Dionatan Teixeira do Nascimento was born in Londrina on July 24, 1992. With an outstanding physique from his youth, was first taken to the track where he trained racing 200m. Even with good performances in the race, preferred to risk the football and just pleasing. By height, was soon sent to work in the defense and pleased The beginning was in Eagle Mandi, club Maringa, but soon after went to Londrina. With 14 years was selected to act in Sao Paulo. After a year and a half, was eventually dismissed. Shortly thereafter, he was taken by his manager for a test in MFK Kosice, Slovakia 16 years now. Being agile and skillful with the ball at his feet, and was impressed at the club. That same season, became the youngest player to act in an official match for the main division of the country. Stunning brand caught the attention of English clubs. The first was Newcastle., Who invited him for a trial period. The leaders of the English team tried hiring outright, but the work permit for the youngster was denied and he returned to Slovakia. Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn tried hiring the player in sequence, but were unsuccessful. The latest club to show interest in the player was Rome, Italy." He must have some speed about him too if he originally trained as a 200m runner.

Must have something in him otherwise Sparky wouldn't be interested..also the majority of people we have on trial never get further than the trial so he must be fairly decent.
Still young as well so we will see

Interesting to see if we try and loan him out initially. Pace of the game may be a bit of a culture shock after Slovakia?

Interesting to see if we try and loan him out initially. Pace of the game may be a bit of a culture shock after Slovakia? I think he will. He seems to have the strength for the english game (he's huge, Youtube, etc) but as you said it'll take some adjusting. We're in no great rush to throw him into the team either so he can develop without pressure
