I'm not sure what it's like in other corners of the world but here in Sydney the Liverpool shirts have been getting dusted off with gusto. Where once there were nothing but the usual Barca, ManU, Chelsea and RM tops, there are now home and away shirts with Gerrard, Suarez, Coutinho et al plastered across the back. I can't believe how many faux-scousers have deftly emerged. Now, admittedly when they came and played in Melbourne at the beginning of the season there was a huge turn out. When they were in their prime back in the late 70s they obviously cemented a serious international following who've maintained their allegiance albeit discretely. All of a sudden it has become the de rigueur replica top across all ages, economic and ethnic lines. I for one don't begrudge them their day in the sun (as long as it's a one off) but I can see that this new red army is going to start grating pretty quickly.

There are legions of 'fans' out there with Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Barcelona and Real. Madrid shirts in their wardrobes. They just wear the appropriate one and change it every week

Makes for a difficult choice of which country to emigrate to if they do win it. Somewhere in South America, methinks.

Let them have their day in the sun because it certainly won't last. Liverpool have capitalised on them around them having average seasons and have punched well above their weight and I think they'll struggle make top 4 next season I really do as the others will spend big this summer. How many Champions League teams would the likes of Sakho, Skirtel, Mignolet, Henderson get in? They've relied on their strike force all season who have delivered and fair play to them for it but I just don't see them sustaining.

With stoke it was people from the area who started taking an interest because we were doing "well" in relative terms. With the Liverpool shirts and such like, its "fans" who have never even been anywhere near Liverpool let alone been to a fucking match.

The comments that the Scousers were coming up with regarding Suarez and Rogers early in the season were almost all negative; now they are saviours! It will be interesting if Suarez goes next season to see if they go back to hating him again.

Don't want them to win the title because of that cunt Saurez. But if they lose it on the last day,we will never hear the last of it,how they were the victims of some conspiracy and hold a minutes silence before every game next season.

Can't believe the comments,it's as if they've never won the league, they are one of the most successful clubs in the world. All the comments about only scouser's go Everton!!!!! If Everton were as successful then they would have supporters from all over the globe,I bet there is a fair share of fans who are attending the Brit these days who never went the vic (when we were shit) Man Utd on the other hand............

There are 2 kinds of people in the world
Those who need to be associated with success, and those who don't.
Having said that, it is nice occasionally!

don't really see the problem. Rodgers has done a brilliant job and not really had to spend much at all this season, just built on the squad he already had and they've played the best football of any team in the Prem this year.
the only side i actively hate in the Prem is Arsenal really so whoever wins it apart from them is fine with me as long as they deserve it and i really don't see how anyone could dispute Liverpool deserving it on the basis of them being the best side, playing the best football of all 20 teams this year.
and of course we have never ever ever had any "gloryhunting" fans of our own who only became fans when we came up or since we went to Wembley have we? no, every other side that attracts new fans are wankers, when we do it then it's "Welcome aboard fellow Stokie"
