What is the point of being annoyed about it?
I think the only point to it is to feel that you are in someway a superior and more authentic football fan to them because you demonstrate loyalty to a team whose achievements are not registered in terms of trophies. (Watney Cup excepted!)
Premiership Football is now a 'Sky Sport' and most people experience it through TV where it would be pointless to support a lower ranking team.
If those people didn't support it then we would have less money to spend on players etc. so comes with the territory.

Just been to my local tip at Woolston near Warrington - The tip office at the entrance bedecked in Liverpool flags
I had two thoughts
1) They have won FUCK ALL this season - as yet
2) I wondered if the Liverpool FC towels (a bit grubby) that bedecked the office windows, had been dumped in one of the skips at an earlier juncture

what i don't get is that people go mad at clubs like Chelsea or Man City for trying to "Buy the league" but when a club that have hardly spent anything this year do well then apparently they're wankers as well.....
so Chelsea and Man City can't win because they're buying it.....Liverpool and Man United can;t because they're just wankers...obviously Arsenal can;t win it because, well they're Arsenal.....if Spurs had done well then they've spent 100 mill so they're buying it now as well...if Newcastle had done well then we hate them because they're delusional etc. etc. (repeat to fade as you go further and further down the league to try and find a club that is apparently acceptable to Stoke fans)
what bullshit reasons would people come up with next if Everton, Southampton etc. started winning it i wonder?
then again, i suppose you're not a true Stoke fan unless you find some negative, antagonistic, hostile, whinging bullshit to label people and other teams with eh?

This is since the Prem started. so what relevance does what they spent over the last 22 years have to whether they're buying the league now? when people say "They've bought the league" they don't mean over the course of the last 22 fucking years Stafford...if they did then you could level that at pretty much any bloody team around! presumably then, if we convert out expenditure of 100 mill over 5 years to a 22 year period in the Prem (so that'd be roughly 440 million) then if we won we'd be just as much bastards as Liverpool and could be accused of buying the league as well then yeah?

I didn't say they have bought the league. Just putting it out there that they have spent a few quid. I don't want them to win the league because the are a bunch of cunts living in their own self pity and we will never hear the last of it. I don't care a shit how much they or anyone else has spent.

I agree mate, Rodgers has done a fantastic job and Liverpool have been the better team in the league. My only worry, as this thread was started for, is the arse holes that have come out of hibernation. They won't shut up about it for years and nothing else will matter to them. I asked 1 particular twat where exactly Anfield was and his reply was on the banks of the Mersey. That is what we are up against.

Don't want them to win the title because of that cunt Saurez. But if they lose it on the last day,we will never hear the last of it,how they were the victims of some conspiracy and hold a minutes silence before every game next season. My thoughts as well. I can remember how pleased I was when Leeds often used to fail at the last hurdle. I wouldn't mind someone different winning to the usual names, but Suarez really gets my goat.

don't really see the problem. Rodgers has done a brilliant job and not really had to spend much at all this season, just built on the squad he already had and they've played the best football of any team in the Prem this year. the only side i actively hate in the Prem is Arsenal really so whoever wins it apart from them is fine with me as long as they deserve it and i really don't see how anyone could dispute Liverpool deserving it on the basis of them being the best side, playing the best football of all 20 teams this year. and of course we have never ever ever had any "gloryhunting" fans of our own who only became fans when we came up or since we went to Wembley have we? no, every other side that attracts new fans are wankers, when we do it then it's "Welcome aboard fellow Stokie" Exactly. I don't know why people get so angry about which football team someone supports. It's their decision to support whoever they like, and if they choose to support a team that they have no affinity to,then that is their loss, because they will never experience the true meaning of what being a fan is all about. So chill out everyone, these so called "glory hunters" are missing out big time

you don't see many Leeds shirts these days, though - probably not even in Leeds.
