...You Might Just Get It. Do you know what, I really wish we were still:- -seeing players selected out of position. -shitting ourselves if we went a goal up and piling everybody behind the ball to invite an equaliser. -launching the ball up to an isolated Crouch. -terrified of clubs like Aston Villa because they won the European Cup once -watching dour binary-score games away from home. -only playing one tactic and sticking with it whether it worked or not -seeing players selected on favoritism not form I just can't cope with:- -seeing everyone line-up in their proper positions. -winning 3-1 away from home and trying to score more goals -watching Crouchy thrive as we get pace in and around him. -turning up and believing we can beat anyone -watching the ball hit the back of the net 4 times in one game -having a number of different systems to choose from dependent on the situation -players being picked on merit. Perhaps that's what Charlton Athletic fans wanted to see as well? Well done Stoke, and well done the Coates family for making a brave decision last May. Up the Potters.

I don't get the mentality of people who see Stoke put in a fantastic performance and want to go backwards and talk about the former manager instead.

I don't get the mentality of people who see Stoke put in a fantastic performance and want to go backwards and talk about the former manager instead. Where have you been for the last eight years? The previous manager divided the fans completely and one of the many arguments trotted out was that if he went we would get relegated, the second pile of garbage was that if we tried to play football we would get relegated. Many an argument bordering on world war 3 transpired. This will go on for a while longer yet but there is the impression that the divisions are healing.

Yes, we may have waited 7 months for an away win but it was glorious when it finally came.

On Cloud nine. Lovely to see how far we continue to come .
But never forget your roots. One man got us here, left like a man, and it seems we have made the right decisions for the last 10 years.
Long may it continue

Totaly agree I reckon if Huth had been playing,we would have had 3 more points at least, but Wilson has done a decent job.Takes some balls to make a decision to change the manager, due to Pullis record of not relegating a team.Would the football have gotten worse if he had stayed, i think so.Look at Palace possession, average 27%,dont care what anybody says, possession stops the other team scoring and helps with producing chances.Pullis defended for life and hoped for a 0-0 horrible football. Maybe Pullis could be a red adaire of football, going to relegation cetainties and trying to keep them up with 10 man defence

Well, put it this way- if we were in the bottom 3 at this point, do you think we wouldn't be ploughing through pages of Charlton Athletic, I Told You We'd Get Relegated and Please Come Back Tone? Do you think the "Axe" threads wouldn't be appearing at the top of the board again with sarcastic comments added from the Rimmers? I wanted Pulis axed- I was desperate for him to go- and so before we have a big group hug and move on, I'm going to fucking gloat my cock off. (only this once though)

I miss the days of the cage and having dinosaur players like Shawcross, Whelan and Crouch that were incapable of playing passing football. I laugh at those people that said that Tony held them back.
... And before the usual suspects start throwing bricks, I started the Anyone But Hughes thread on here...
Time to move on and let's support him when the going gets tough.

absolutely no need to keep harping on about TP and the fans that supported him, he was brilliant for Stoke, yes the style of football was hard to take, yes we are seeing improvement. We have had a brilliant away win which we can all be proud of and enjoy. He is gone now, no one now thinks it was a bad decision, its brilliant to see the lads playing well and enjoying football. I have reservations about Hughes because I believe at the first sign of a bigger club coming in for him he would fuck right off at the drop of a hat. Hopefully when that happens we can attract a decent replacement.

Oh dear.
Funny how these 'no need to harp on' etc etc messages keep appearing. Of course, if we were languishing in the bottom 3 then nothing would be said....
And when Pulis was SACKED we DID attract a decent replacement i.e. an even better Manager.
Go back to the ironing love.

'Go back to the ironing love.' is offensive These no need to harp on etc etc messages keep appearing because the harping on is unnessesary, we are not languishing in the bottom three we are doing very well thank you, why not just enjoy the party? I dont get why some posters feel the need to keep referring back to TP after every result. We are all Stoke fans here, TP is now part of our history. Every single Stoke fan wants our club to have success. Its time to unite and stop bleating on about past differences of opinion. Is that so hard? Just let it go and move on...

Every stoke fan should be happy at the moment as our club is looking on the up. The change in manager was always going to be a debate but I think all of us wanted to see us doing well whoever the manager. I for one have had some negative moments this season but I'm pretty happy right now. So if your aim is to come on here and say I told you so - then your a hero mate. Are you happy about our current form or just happy you can throw these statements around? I for one are over the moon you were right mate - my hero!! Was I allowed to stand on my seat yesterday Abd shout Hughes name?
