Fair play, something, due to sheer desperation I suppose, I'd not thought of. When was the last time that a player went for serious money through a tribunal though? Didn't we have to pay out around £250,000 for Peter Sweeney despite Millwall demanding something toward £2mill? Yeah. I don't really know what the criteria are? Is length of time they've been at the club a factor? How strongly would the panel weigh the £8m bid last summer? Last big one I remember was Daniel SturridgeI do kind of agree that about £4m would do the trick now, but I don't really know what he's "worth" Sturridge came through Citeh's academy, so they were entitled to development compensation, but didn't Ince come through at Liverpool and get farmed out to a couple of clubs before letting him go to Blackpool? I'm not sure what kind of compensation Blackpool would be entitled to, him only being there 3 years?

Money isn't an issue here, he is out of contract in the summer and it's a nominal fee, maybe even a couple of £mill for the 6 month loan, tops. It purely down to pull. It does come down to money as he isn't free in the summer at all, he is out of contract but as he is under 23 the club who sign him will have to pay compensation, all I think Blackpool are doing is trying to entice a few tasty bids so they can pocket a loan fee now and then go to a tribunal saying 'look what people were prepared to pay for him 6 months ago, and since then he's played in the top flight we should be due more than that now' Of course compensation was brought in to reward teams for developing youngsters and these tribunals usually take into consideration cost of development and bringing a player through the ranks and this is where Blackpool fall short as he was at Liverpool until the age of 18 so they might get a lot less than they're expecting. Compensation for what exactly though? He didn't come through their academy, and they've let the only contract (I think?) he's had with them run down. As I say, I'm not sure the fee would be anything more than nominal.

Well if the rumours are true and he wants to stay in the North West then surely, surely we can get this deal done.
Other than European footy with Swansea, I can't see how we aren't the most appealing to him out of the rumoured 4 clubs interested.
I can see someone coming in and fucking it up for us though.

Blackpool GazetteWith his contract set to expire this summer Blackpool would be able to claim compensation due to Ince being under 23.
If he chose to sign for a club in England the figure would be expected to be around £4m, but much less should he opt for a move to Europe.
Should he chose a move abroad Pool would only be able to claim a small development few of around £90,000 for every year he’s been at the club. Blackpool local paper have pulled £4m out of the air as a likely summer tribunal figure. So, on the face of it, that's about what would they would accept now?

I think our priority is an out and out striker.
Ince would be an upgrade on some of our current starting 11 and would be a good investment as he is young

Thought he was? (A 'free' - his contract ends).
But much like CKP, I can't be arrised to google it, sorry. Apparently not, rsb. linkHowever, any deal would depend on the verdict of a tribunal hearing which would take place in June, to decide on what compensation fee Blackpool would be entitled to receive for the England under-21 international. Under English football rules clubs can seek a fee for players under the age of 23 who become out of contract, based on the cost of developing their talent and potential loss of revenue.
Problems could arise if Blackpool argue they should receive a figure close to the £8m they agreed with Cardiff City last summer, before Ince turned down the switch and opted to remain at Bloomfied Road
Everton would likely turn their attentions elsewhere if the compensation fee was in excess of their valuation of the player, although they will still go ahead with the hearing in the hope of doing a deal.[/quote] OK. If I read that correctly, both right - he seems to be out of contract ("been talk of running it down") but 'cos he's a kiddie (u23) they get compo.
Then yes, B'pool will be doing all they can (& rightly so IMHO) to justify a higher £ at any tribunal in the summer.
But if he goes abroad (Monaco) it's a minimum fee (didn't that happen to us with Vass?)
So yes, a decent fee for a perm and some show of ambition from Les should be in the mixer you'd think.

Either way, think it will be a loan move which rules us out.
Maybe we could take a look in the summer.

Mmm. Either:
1. we're not trying due to bigger priorities
2. we tried & have been beaten to the deal
3. they (him & dad) don't like us
4. we don't like him (value?)
5. there's no cash (unlikely)
I think we're in 2 / 3 territory.

If it meant having some sort of guarantee in the summer would you, if possible, send Assaidi back and get him in on loan?

Can't see Ince agreeing a permanent deal anywhere, he's out of contract Blackpool have just sacked his dad and they have reportedly already held talks with Monaco, going abroad would mean more £ for him and also be one in the face for Blackpool as they get next to no transfer fee, going to Swansea would mean a chance to play in the Europa League and further enhance his chance of a move abroad. Wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't signed a pre-contract somewhere already.

Him signing permanent in the summer. Ince?
Not Assaidi I assume.
If it swung it, yes (despite some doubts here, we need to something) but I suspect we aren't in the frame anyway for whatever reason(s).

Not exactly a Pulos type player, young, under 6 ft, technical, and pacey. Plus would Ince even want to play for the capped one?
I can see us signing him as long as we are willing to pay the 4-5 mil required. This one actually lines up nice for us.

Thing is IF it is a loan then a few clubs, who you would consider to be the likely destination are out: Us Villa Hull Fulham Everton Palace Sunlun Leaving those that could/might: Castle Narrich Southampton Baggies Hammers Spurs Onner, you seem to have forgotten Swansea.
You know, the one where he's almost certainly going? RSB...you win! Spotted my deliberate mistake. B@st@rd!!!! Missed them and as you may already know they have zero loans from the UK. DAMN! They do however have a couple of players in the same mould with Prem experience so fingers crossed!
