As much as it is an underwhelming signing, given the "effort" supposedly gone into this window I feel that he will offer us more than anything Jones could ever do, he has some pace and he's undoubtedly a better finisher than Walters or Jones so that's a plus from the start.
We all know that he's had a cuntish year and a half or so but that's what Stoke has been about in the past, "the dogs home" and all that, he strikes me as a player that needs the fans behind him to get the best out of him so I know I will be behind him from the day he signs that contract, I hope everyone on this board who is currently calling him a wanker follows suit.
At the end of the day, it is not Odemwingie's fault that our club has failed in jumping over whatever hurdles lay in front of them to sign someone of a higher calibre.

I think he will get very little time on the pitch. Crouch and Guidetti will be the first choice. Simultaneously, we do need strikers.

I would have been happier with Cameron Jerome coming back. And Jerome, as much as i like him, is also not good enough to push us into the top half.

Could odemwingie score the goal that keeps us up and sends baggies down at the hawthorns final day? Potentially, what dreams r made of is that!

I'm not saying I'm positive about the deal, but I am not privy to the budget and policies in place regarding how we bring players in. I just want to see us take our chances more often and hopefully Odemwingie will do that, if he doesn't and we are looking dire by March then I will take a different view on the whole window.
Remember that there is still a week of the window left. We may still pull off something.

He could score against the baggies but it won't be to send them down. They have made a shrewd move getting Pepe Mel in, he'll get them playing Greta football and take them clear of relegation. I thought they looked very good in the 2nd half v Everton. Odemwingie though could be a success, he scored double figures 2 seasons running in the prem for them, he was given quality balls to run onto mind and if Hughes is expecting him to chase hoofs from Shawcross and the others he ain't going to be any good.

I guess we'll always be in the dark about the budget and restrictions that go on behind the scenes, especially these days. For all we know we need to free up wages and get Kenwyne off there but can't agree a settlement. Cardiff are the only club to show an interest but won't play unless someone takes on Odenwingie to make space in their squad. We free up Pennant to cover the cost of Odemwingie moving here and in turn get back whatever big pay packet Kenwyne's been on to invest elsewhere. All said in complete speculation and hope, of course

God bless anyone who can see any positives in this deal. Jones wasn't going to play for Stoke again after wot went on {plus he has the touch of a rapist} so with that in mind. PO will be on less money, he gives us another option on the right of a front 3 which we didn't have before the window and hes got a better goal record. I know its not world breaking news but there is positives u soft twat

Who wasn't scared when he came on as the sub for baggies back in March of lastyear. I hoped we might have been able snatch him off of them as the whole qpr thing was going on. It would be hard for this to be the worst deal we have done, cause we have done so much bad business over recent years...

He can play on the wing as well as centre forward, KJ barely played and all that Ode is is another squad rotation option, we're all desperate to see a pacey goal scorer 'rock the city' type of signing come in so I can understand why people are disappointed, but he isn't intended to be that type of signing he's just filling the hole KJ has left there is still room for a prolific striker. Let's not take our frustrations out on the lad before he even pulls on the shirt i'd rather see him playing than the player KJ became over the past 2 seasons.

At the minute jones is doing fuck all for us anyway! Its not what we all hope for but its a change. I know we have got him a couple of seasons late and he hasn't done much for a while but its something different than what we had. Not saying it will work out but think the guy needs a chance before anythings being said.

Just our luck watch jones become prolific for Cardiff ! Difficult to see a lazy player who has continued his half arsed performances (at Blunderland) generally, throughout his time at Stoke - suddenly become a goal machine. His attempts at forcing his way into the team have been akin to struggling to punch his way out of a paper bag.

I'm at loss to how anyone can complain at this move.
Whatever your thoughts of Kenwyn, Hughes didn't rate him. And didn't play him. He was a wasted player.
I'm with the majority in that he was consistently inconsistent, but at his best, one of the best.
But the fact is, we've now got a player that Hughes has a player he will obviously give a go. One that however underwhelming, will surely add more to the squad than an unused Kenwyn.

On a positive not, we have got rid of a player who didn't want to play for and stopped him for a player who does,

Give the lad a chance, strengthens the right flank. We've been creating more chances up front so far, experienced and composed at his best, More adaptable than Jones, a chance to rest SJW, sounds good to me. let's hope the 'fresh club' syndrome has a positive impact.
