If the email is true then it's constructive dismissal if he resigns. MacKay (who is a wanker btw) will have a payoff no matter what. Don't think he would get anything like the full compensation from constructive dismissal as opposed to breach of contract? Wanker or not he should get every penny he can from the idiot, sadly it will come from Cardiff rather than Tan , unless he is willing to bankroll it. Think the compensation limit for unfair \ constructive dismissal is around £90k but may be wrong.

There should be a 'transfer' window for managers. Can't sack your manager unless it is during the window.

What a mess! What is happening to football clubs? This Tan idiot needs to be booted out of football, it's embarrassing. I would be gutted if Stoke was run like this In fact I would probably stop going to watch. The guy is a fucking wand. One fuck up after another,I can see the club imploding.(hopefully)

If this was any club other than Cardiff I would be quite concerned. It is Cardiff though so I find it highly amusing.

Probably wrong on my part but this brings a smile to my face. The whole thing is farcical and makes me feel much better that now there are 5 teams in the Prem who are more likely going down than us. Bardiff deserves it, horrible club with the biggest group of inbred fans in the game. Make the Yam Yams look like a proper club FFS !

Sod Cardiff, they deserve the 12 plagues of Egypt upon them. Ideally, they will get relegated and Swansea win the Europa League. I'll buy that for a Dollar I'd support the Dingles if they played Cardiff.

Be hilarious if they replace him with some no mark from the Malaysian 2nd division........ Is Shebby Singh still employed by Blackburn? Regardless, I am sure his CV is in the post as I speak. He would make a great manager for Cardiff.

First the blue shirts turn red, bluebirds is dropped for dragons, now this. Him and that other berk at Hull.....what is the point of the fit and proper person test? And does fit and proper just mean showing you are loaded? How do the first two constitute not being fit and proper? As for this...chairman and manager in transfer budget fallout shocker - not exactly the first time its ever happened is it. The fit and proper test is related to ensuring those involved in running a Money Service Business, Trust or Company Service Provider meet the requirements of the Money Laundering Regulations. It doesn't involve asking the following: 1) Will you keep the home shirts the same colour; 2) Will you keep the clubs nickname the same; or 3) Will you give your manager all the money he wants in every transfer budget Just to add - I don't agree with how this has gone public, should be kept in house. Some chairman are wankers, like some owners of many businesses out their. The biggest surprise is that there doesn't seem to be more arses like them about

With the way that twat is running Cardiff and completely going all out to be rid of a decent manager like Mackay, it makes me realise how lucky we are too have a Chairman that actually loves and understands the club.

They should just stick a question on the end of the f&p person test;
'Are you a bit of a Bellend? Y/N'
(Although that'd see Dave Whelan gone from Wigan despite being a fairly decent owner)

Must be nailed on for Spurs you'd imagine. I actually feel sorry for the genuine fans, even though it's Cardiff. They being messed about rotten. I rate MacKay, but I reckon that a job the size of Spurs might be a bit too early in his career. He's got Cardiff promoted and looked like he'd keep them up if it wasn't for Tan, both of which are notable achievements but I'm not sure Tottenham fans, or Levy, would find those achievements particularly comforting during a rough patch for Spurs. I think they'll go for a bigger name.

Agreed. The one thing you can't accuse owners like Peter Coates of, is a lack of understanding for the game, or love for the club he has supported since he was a boy. One thing the owners of Hull and Cardiff have in common is that they, unlike PC, never stood on the terraces of their clubs as children. If they had done, they would be less likely to trample on tradition or assume they knew better than both the fans and the manager.

Happy that it's happening to Cardiff. This is a bunch of supporters who backed Sam Hammam and Peter Ridsdale in pursuit of premier league football. Then stood meekly by when the next shyster owner changed their colours and will do the same when they become the dragons.
They also hate the English while continuing to play in our leagues but being backed by the welsh fa on disciplinary matters.
I really hope he wrecks their tinpot sleeping giant of a club.

Thing is, who does Tan think is going to go work for him now? Phil Brown probably ... (lol) Any available manager who thinks the money is enough. Most Prem managers jobs are only temporary and as been said on here how much loyalty do they have to the club they manage? Granted don't think we'll see AVB and the like knocking on Tan's door.

That was kinda my point. Is he going to be able to attract a better manager than Mackay? NOT A CHANCE - he's going to end up with some little scrote, who thinks he better than he actually is and is so desperate for work that'll he be prepared to work for the biggest doofus in English football. Who do you think would be Tan's top three that would actually accept the job? I'm sure they're not the candidates that Tan thinks he's going to be able to attract.

Regardless of footballing afinity's, I feel so sorry for Cardiff fans here. I doubt any of them want this Tan fella now, he's made them change their shirt colour, under threat of removing funding, he publicly criticized spending during the summer, despite sanctioning that spending at the time & now he is flying in to decide whether to sack MacKay before or after their next game. Personally I hope he does it after, but MacKay gets a result against Liverpool, is handed his p45 on the pitch and walks off to a standing ovation. But I doubt this will happen
Unfortunately club's cannot choose who owns them and when Coates decides to sell, even if he sells to someone decent (& I hope with his love of the club he would), the man after could be some obscure businessman, ala Tan
