Just seen someone on Twitter calling Rory a cunt.
Sad really, he has done nothing but give his all for Stoke City and taken time out to raise money for a local charity. Some of our "fans" don't deserve people like Rory representing our club.

Legend. Best midfielder we had for sometime. Was fantastic captain and what a throw he had. Scored the occasional goal and it was something else. Best days at the brit when we where bombarding the likes of arsenal and united good times!

A good honest, professional that puts most modern footballers to shame and one we're seeing less and less in the game. All the best Rory, thank you for everything you helped us achieve. I couldn't agree more

If only football had more Rory Delaps, most modern footballers need to take a leaf out of his book. Kids need to look up to Rory in terms if attitude. A stoke city legend, all the best Rory....let's get him up the Brit for a proper appreciation of the great man Let's raise a bourbon to RORY DELAP

In the modern era where just about anybody has been called a legend (even Mama Sidibe ffs!!) Rory is the real deal and deserves to share that status with the likes of Matthews Banks Smith Greenhoff Hudson Fuller. Rory double handedly launched Stoke City on the world soccer map. Wherever I went if I mentioned Stoke City the response would be Rory Delap. Added to this his great commitment to charity and his consumate professional approach and he is a legend. I hope his services are recognised in some way by the club.

A proper pro. Never one to complain or upset the apple cart. Always gave 100% from start to finish (that should be a prerequisitie of course but we all know it isn't). Great defensive midfielder but also contributed more goals than our other centre midfielders, despite his limitations. All the best Rory.

Don't remember feeling so bastard empty upon leaving a game. Even when they equalised I thought "oh well, it's still a great point".

The really threat in this world is the 'Social networking, grief hungry, cause chasing, drama queens that put forward a minutes applause for every bastard thing purely to further their online presence and the validation they think it gives their miserable existence'

It was the Chelsea game at home in our first season I met him outside the ground before kick off. He was injured told me he wasn't playing. I asked him if I could take his picture and got out my camera. He said 'That's a big camera' I replied ' I need a big one to get your ears in the picture Rory' I realised after I said it it was a bit rude but he took it in good spirit and laughed. We were doing OK but we didn't half miss him that day and we went down 0-2. Of all the players we had at that time he will be probably be the one best remembered. Top player, top human being. Good luck to him I say.

He was the Icon of Stoke & represented what Wanger & the gooners hated about us, he was the best at what he did. I was in Britanny some years ago and the barman asked me who I supported. His mate didn't know us, so the barman did his throw in sherade & he knew. Icon!!!
