The Theme From A Summer Place has to be up there, seeing that the music is better known than the film.

Time by Hans Zimmer, the theme from Inception. Brilliantly performed live with one of my heroes Johnny Marr, no less. Kraftwerk aside, Germany's mainstream music is dodgy, however they do seem to churn out brilliant composers and Zimmer can only be described as a modern genius.

Has there ever been a better Bond theme since the original? It's between this and Live and Let Die I reckon.

John Murphy is one of the greatest movie soundtrack composers ever, he's used variants of this in many films such as Kick Ass & Gravity.....but it's really effective & epic in Sunshine.

Is there really any argument?? I love this tune but what pleases me the most about hearing it, is the memory of once having it on an old phone. One slow night up the pub, when we were pretty pissed, me and a mate would play it when people walked into the bar. It seemed hilarious in our fragile state

I like the Peter Greenaway/Michael Nyman collaborations, especially 'Drowning By Numbers'.

I like the Peter Greenaway/Michael Nyman collaborations, especially 'Drowning By Numbers'. Spot on there mate. Michael Nyman is another genius, perhaps our best living composer, i'm a huge fan and I really like the many Greenaway collaborations too, particularly "The Belly of an Architect". There's a deep complexity in his compositions and he also uses unorthodox arrangements such as electric bass guitar which can draw criticisms from purists. However, as a theme I reckon this is perhaps his best work to date.

Totally agree with you on this one. One of the best scores you'll hear and also a massively underrated film as well.

Theme from Drive by Kavinski. Very eighties sounding but really works with the film.
