I love both the film and the soundtrack. By the way,this was composed by a guy called Trevor Jones who has the same name as m dad.Something my dad is strangely proud of.

It's been used in a few films, but This Mortal Coil's version of Song To The Siren in The Lovely Bones was just awe inspiring.
Liz Fraser is probably my favourite vocalist of all time, she sings this Tim Buckley classic perfectly. It's one of the few cover versions that are better than the original.

Lynch and Tarantino have certainly got an eye/ear for incidental music. Which is different to 'theme' music I suppose. Two of my favourite 'soundtracks' are 'Blow Out' featuring John Travolta, and 'The Conversation' with Gene Hackman, Shine music.

The 1990 Julee Cruise album "Floating into the Night" is a cracker too, it's often regarded as the unofficial Twin Peaks soundtrack.
