This has turned into a nightmare. Is this some kind of sinister experiment? If so, wake me up when it ends.
How can 2 Premiership managers be so deluded?
What does he do in training? Whatever it is, he is yet to do it on the pitch!

He's not good enough to partner someone up front, he's certainly not good enough to play on the wing and he is 100% not suited to playing up front on his own!
He's shite, but today he could do nothing due to where he was positioned. Bad move by Hughes to play him as he did.

To be fair he was the only one closing anyone down in the first half, and had no support at all. Whoever plays up front will struggle playing for Stoke, the rest of the team never push up. Every time Anichebe had the ball around the box, he had a player either side of him, Walters was left completely on his own.

When he actually got the ball he didn't put a foot wrong. Walters wasn't the issue today.

He was dire. Did he actually compete for anything? He might as well not have been on.

Walters is our most competitive and most committed player. Managers will always play those players

He competed for anything and everything and got battered by Olsson for his trouble. If that had been Kenwyne he would have jacked it after 5 mins Im afraid.
Not the individuals fault today - it was a failed starting line up playing a system they cant cope with.

Walters as lone striker.
The worst example of square pegs in round holes since Steve Bould made his debut as a centre forward.

I am not a fan of Walters, but today he did at least try to make runs trhat moved defenders about - something Crouch can't do and something that Kenwyne does once or twice a season; but today the problem was in midfield. Did N'zonzi ever break into a trot - in a team with little pace he slowed the game down to such an effect that by the time he released the ball, all space had disappeared. Ireland did a fair impression of CA today, in that he was blowing out of his arse after 55 minutes, yet still managed to spoon our one decent chance over the bar. I detested the football that TP had us playing in the final 20 months, but the team did at least look fit. This lot look as if they could all expire after 30 minutes. Thank God for Bego - and please- don't anyone try and say that Wilko is a better full back than Cameron - he was nowhere near the wide man at any stage today!

His feet never left the ground all game and Olsson murdered him quite cleanly I thought for Olsson.

He was going for everything as far as I could see Bayern. Olsson did everything he could get away with and that was plenty. Nothing particularly wrong with that though, I'm sure our centre backs do the same.

I just saw him standing there as Olsson towered above him to win another header, it's something he does a lot too imo. And for Olsson I thought he was quite tidy today because usually he's a proper dirty bastard. He's improved a hell of a lot, when he first came to West Brom he was absolute garbage.

But you chose to ignore the lack of support for whoever plays up top and just blame the fall guy as per. Come on watch the game! Can you not see where the problem is??

kinda think its not a balanced argument? he does have work rate, which every team needs, ok, not the most gifted footballer, but he'll still be there in the trenches for you when the 'gifted' ones, eg Ireland, defo today, go missing. its up to the mgr & the other players in the team to work to their strengths & a lot went AWOL for long periods today. to pick on Jon is just using him as a scapegoat for the failings of the whole team ('ceptin Bego, Ryan & Huthy), selection & not addressing weaknesses during the transfer window. IMO!!!

He cant score a goal if nobody provides anything for him the support from midfield I thought was wank so even if he bought the ball down he had nobody to give it to.
If we end up having a season like we are now we will certainly need players like Walters to give us some energy and a bit of fight.
