Ooohh when the reeeeds goo marching innnnn
Brilliantly strange moment in the second half. Five minutes of singing "oh when the reds" as if it were a hymn. If only we could slow other songs down like it.
The atmosphere was bloody epic today.

That 5 minutes showed just how much football chants are improved if they are slowed down. We should work on this and make it one of the anthems by which people know us. It was almost like being in church - surreal!

delilah at the correct pace would be haunting too, not the block 19 dance remix version! the same goes for we'll be with you! We must have the best match day mix of songs when we actually try rather than just go on stoke go on stoke for every other song!

I think we did it about 3 seasons ago (against Blackburn I think). Agree it sounds great.

I take it that I'm the only one who didn't think the atmosphere was very good yesterday? That "oh when the reds" was good but was nowhere near loud enough and the Man City fans probably never even heard it. We have a piss poor repertoire of match day songs as well.(that's aimed at whoever it was earlier in the thread who said we have the best).

I thought we were louder than we have been for a ling time but our catalogue of songs are pathetic. Go on Stoke is shit. I must be the only person who thinks Delilah is shit, especially since singing it time seems to hard to grasp for some. Oh when the reds is good when slow but shit when fast. Apart from that we have the Jones song and thats it.

Some knobheads even insert a clap into the "go on Stoke" chant these days.
The majority of the boothen end couldn't wait to destroy the "oh when the reds" chant as well. 3 attempts at speeding it up way before necessary.
Singing every song at a million miles an hour whilst clapping incessantly has destroyed our matchday atmosphere. I love a good sing song but I just can't be arsed these days. Every attempt at generating a sustainable atmosphere is destroyed by the "million miles per hour, clapping brigade'.

They even sing the 'we'll be with you' at the beginning miles too fast and they've got the music to follow. clap clap.

Sorry, am i missing something here?
We've been singing it slow for years! the first time I remember singing it slow was Derby away when Bangoura made his debut from the bench.
Admittedly, I've never heard sung in the tone we sang it yesterday....and it sounded fantastic, haunting and very effective. It could have been louder, but that will hopefully come the more we sing it and the more people get used to it being sung in this way.

I think we did it about 3 seasons ago (against Blackburn I think). Agree it sounds great. I remember this - Liam Lawrence (think he scored the winner) just stood still in awe and looked all around the ground. I loved it yesterday, sounds splendid when sang like that - haunting.
