I know they didn't have much time on the pitch but how did our new guys do when they came on?

arnie thinks he's ronaldo by the looks of it
ireland, well we know what he's capable of, but question is whether we'll see it more than 1/5 games

Cant really judge them on 20mins when they havent played/trained much
Ireland was quite but played it simple, pushed on an got aruond the box
Arnie was very lively, first touch/action was picking itup at half way line, passing it down the left and making a quality run through the ManC defense, he got the ball back from Ethers/Pieters? and fired it across goal, Nastastic nearly scored an OG and it was superb from Hart. He hit a 35yard FK about 35yards over, and also had a very close chance with the last touch of the game,Ireland laid himoff and he tried a curl/chip over Hart which hit the roof of the net, close

I'm not convinced by Ireland, he didn't look ready yet. It was only a brief appearance though.
Arnautovic showed a lot of promise. He looked lively in attack and quite sharp defensively. I can't wait to see him start.

Ireland will need time, after so long away from competitive action, but good that Hughes felt he could throw him o against the likes of City and expect him to do a job.

Ireland was ok. Has some good touches and skill better than our other MF cover. He was good on defense could of ran with the ball more at them but he was kinda dare I say like a bald version of whelan just passed it off to others. He Needs time and more subs imo. Arnie showed attacking gravitas which I know hughesy will like and make the change to starting rw for Walters IMO which is blatantly obvious...

Not bad at all for the sum of 2 million plus whatever loan fee we played Villa!

Ireland needs games. Can't judge anything from that (or for a little while)
Arnie looked like he wanted to make a good impression. If we're going to push on, we need a couple of players with something a bit different and - on a quick first look - he looks like he might be one with it. Decent run and cross straight after he came on, a bit about him to step up for the free kick. Early days, but I've seen far worse debuts

Arnie looks like he will make his mark once he has settled. Tracked back well and can tackle. We should have scored from his first cross.
I'm afraid I don't expect much from Ireland. He strikes me as this season's Michael Owen.

Arnie's free kick was awful, but he's confident and looks like he wants to score, defended well too I was impressed with what I saw from him

Both looked bright but Ireland didn't get much of the ball so Arnie therefore looked better.
I'm hopeful of both doing well.

Arnie looked like the player the Austrians said he is. He got up and down well, created a clear cut chance, tracked back and looked strong.
I thought Ireland was ok tbh, he didn't do much with the ball but I think he sat on Toure and quietened him down a bit.

Arnautovic did well, caused havoc with a pass across the box, and should of been played through by N'Zonzi. Had a good effort at the end aswell. Think he'll be the unpredictable fuller type player we've been crying out for.
Ireland did ok, looked a little bit off the pace in truth but grew into the game a little bit. It's all about match fitness and sharpness with him, a few games under his belt and he'll settle right in.

They'll both be good players for us. We kinda lost our momentum with the subs. I thought it was a big mistake taking Adam off. Walters would of been first gone for me.

Toure was quiet all match really a shadow of himself.

Yes, absolutely, he should've been played through by N'Zonzi, would've been the icing on the cake, plus great chip with the last kick of the match. I thought he would win it for us when he came on.

Obviously its early days but Ireland just floated about and did nothing for me. Arnoutavic was ok apart from that freekick. I wouldnt start either of them based on there cameos tho as we didnt look as threatning. Thats probs due to Adam and Etherington putting in good performances tho

I agree 100% every time he got the ball I was excited for what would happen next, just like ric. Talking of our Jamaican he scored a header from a long throw today for blackpool, brings a tear to my eye (yes I'm aware it's early days but just let me be excited)

Thats probs due to Adam and Etherington putting in good performances tho Same Adam who after doing 1 half decent thing then did something terrible? A common occurance, Ethers was ok nothing more. Arnie looked sharp and Ireland is lacking match fitness. Ireland within a month will replace Adam and Arnie will replace Ethers. The reason we lacked threat was because of Crouch, again he brought nothing to the team, Jones ran at them and won every ball.

Thought Ireland played further up than Adam had, thought his starting position should have been 5 - 10 yards further back then he could have got involved a bit more. Not sure if it was intentional or just where he is used to paying?

I shudder to think what would have happened to Arnie's career if he'd have tried that fancy-dan-manship in last years team. He looks exciting though. Lets see him start at the Haemorrites Stadium.
