Yes, with regards to address However if I have friends or family from outside stoke visiting i could previously buy 6 or 7 tickets or whatever on my account. Now each would have to have a card register address etc. Obviously this is not a major major issue just needlessly over the top for a club that being realistic didn't sell out to often

Know exactly the bloke you are on about. Took me 3 trips too and from the Brit to get mine and 3 other mates (one of which is a season ticket holder) tickets for westham very unhelpful and a grade A jobsworth.
First of all he couldn't tell me how much a disabled ticket was ... because knowing the price of the product your selling isn't a worth while thing to find out?
Then fair cop you need the address, i wasn't aware of this and struggled to get my mates as he lives at the other end of the country but when i finally did get that he springs you need a birth date on me too (never thought to tell me that the first 2 times i came down, i had to make up save more hassle.)
The cherry on the cake was when he asked if i'd be needing travel at the end of the transaction, i calmly said no thanks, we're going down on the train, to which he replied "good because there isn't any".
I mean seriously i'm not expecting 1st class customer service but fuck me that's taking the piss. Surely there must be a young lad or lady in Stoke eager for work who'd make a far better job of it than that miserable old cunt.

working in the ticket office must be a nightmare. everyone in these parts knows what happened when the mancs come to town in the late 90's and the staff from the ticket office have proberly been made aware of this especially once the news that tickets are available. he may or may not have purchased a couple of shirts from the club shop [or brought replicas on the internet]but at the end of the day the club are going to use the database they have built up over the years? surely if you are a stoke fan but not a st holder you would have brought a ticket sometime in the last ten years.esp given that we went wembley. if you have friends coming from denmark then surely they should have contacted the club to request tickets? or put it another way if a man city lad wanted tickets for him and his mates does he just need to buy a couple of shirts then tell the ticket office oh my mates supported stoke all his life and its just a coincidence that they want tickets for this game. the ticket office staff do a very hard job for not much pay, anyone who abuses them deserves to be banned for life My story came from before either the Genoa or Palace game so where's the reasoning there? The system is a joke and I do feel sorry for them in this instance because they have to work to a system that has so many floors. As for the staff and the two in particular mentioned, I try to avoid them like the plague! Graham and Geoff by any chance?

Sorry, there is no defence for this system. It's totally wank. There's literally thousands alienated from watching football with such crap as this.
Turn up with a group - pay on gate - go in.
There's a great system that would see thousands added to the attendance.
So much fucking bullshit with everything these days - and I'm not even old.

You've had to give them your address to buy a ticket for years and years haven't you? Yes you have and it's always been detrimental. This makes it even more so. I've spoken to blokes in the pub - people that did used to go and fancy the odd game, in fact can only afford the odd game. I've tried to explain how to go about getting in. But we end up agreeing they're better off finding a pub with it on or not bothering. There must be literally thousands in this category. If the club think they're better off with a database to target people who go anyway with promotional shite than making it easy for thousands of others to go then I beg to differ. Maybe it's Coates' way of avoiding filling in the corners.

The new system is not user friendly for casual supporters or to be able to bring along non Stoke supporting friends. I don't know why the club would want to put barriers in the way of people attending or trying to grow the supporter base. Any system that any business has the priority should be to make it easy for customers to to business !
Inflexible and awkward systems put people off!
One way to circumnavigate the system if you are a regular ticket buyer for other people is to have a couple of spare club member cards for people who live ( or might live) at the same address as you. Whenever you want to buy a ticket for anyone else you just use these cards to load games onto online and then give the card to your friends on match day for them to give back to you afterwards.

This is classic Stoke in so many ways Firstly you have throwback "characters" behind the ticket office window, who have obviously offended so many people but no-one does anything more about it, but have a good old moan. How about actually getting their names and reporting to the ticket office manager, or someone senior ??? Such 'customer service' should not be tolerated anymore I live away now anyhow so use the on-line ticket facility The new ticket system is a sad sign of the times though Cash turnstiles would give so many more sell-outs, even at today's outrageous prices !!

On a more serious note since when did it become compulsory that you had to identify yourself and provide full personal details before being allowed into a football match?
Thatcher tried to bring this law in and there was hell to pay. Now Stoke are doing exactly what Thatcher wanted and no one can attend a game anonymously anymore!

I have signed my wife and grandson up for team cards and added them to my friends and family on my online account but still cannot buy tickets. I went down to the ticket office to find out why to be told they have a software problem because they are running 2 systems side by side you can buy away tickets but not home tickets.you can buy home tickets buy setting up individual accounts but this does not guarantee getting seats together this is not good when you are buying tickets for a 9 year old .yet again stoke city fail the fans and wonder why they have tickets left. the card system online should stop the need to go to the ticket office not increase it what a joke

As the Brit says, just use your own account add friends and family (so they get a ref number with the same address as yours but just different names have the cards posted to yourself, the. Call the ticket office, so if you have some family or friends who want to go to a few games just share the cards simple. As long as its an adult card with adult ticket they don't even look at the name, used my wife's card for my father in law for genoa.

As usual the club have done a pretty poor job of explaining their new system, but I can't help thinking that some fans are almost encouraging the system to fail by being a bit dense. I love the posts about fans who have spent 3 days in the ticket queue! How do they think exiles like me buy tickets for friends and family - I certainly don't drive 135 miles, wait in a queue, leave empty handed and drive 135 miles home! So far this season, from the comfort of my armchair, at zero cost to me, and taking about 4 minutes in total, I have brought 4 tickets for friends and family for the Palace and Norwich games. If another friend or family member wanted to go to a game at short notice I'd just use an existing friend and family member's details for the ticket and apply for membership in the name of the new arrival for them to use next time they wanted a ticket.

It's a fool proof system pal once your signed up that's it sorted for life, no queuing for your ticket nothing just ring up then it's applied to your card fucking easy peasy. Regarding your superb cash turn style idea how the hell are the guys operating the turn style going to know when the grounds full? Hence not getting 3 people fighting for the same seat,. Honestly it will take 3 minutes to do on scfc direct about the same time for you to reply. Stoke will post out your card, in you go. It's not like a exam just enter your details, and if you have been to a game in the last 5 years just use your existing customer number then job done. No bullshit just a very easy system of getting your tickets to you faster and no chance of them being late in the post or getting lost.

One way around it, so as to be able to get friends tickets.Just go on to SCFC direct and create a fictious account and the card will be sent out.Just top it up with tickets when and whenever you want them.

Yes, I'm surprised more people haven't caught on to this idea. Perhaps they have and have just stayed quiet about it. I wonder if anyone has created fictitious children's cards? If they do, they'll eventually have to convert them to an adult card as the non-existent child gets older!

Other clubs have been running a similar system for a few years now. Do their fans moan about it or is it just our lot?
