Thing is once everbody is on the system and has a card there should be no problem and loads easier to buy tickets. Ring up, pay for tickets, tickets applied to card, turn up, watch game, go home, moan bag off on here about another issue. Mint

There's been a few stories like this tbf. Someone on Twatter mentioned that when they were queueing someone was trying to buy tickets for their family who were coming over from America. He didn't know their address so they couldn't get a ticket. It seems farcical.

working in the ticket office must be a nightmare. everyone in these parts knows what happened when the mancs come to town in the late 90's and the staff from the ticket office have proberly been made aware of this especially once the news that tickets are available. he may or may not have purchased a couple of shirts from the club shop [or brought replicas on the internet]but at the end of the day the club are going to use the database they have built up over the years? surely if you are a stoke fan but not a st holder you would have brought a ticket sometime in the last ten years.esp given that we went wembley. if you have friends coming from denmark then surely they should have contacted the club to request tickets? or put it another way if a man city lad wanted tickets for him and his mates does he just need to buy a couple of shirts then tell the ticket office oh my mates supported stoke all his life and its just a coincidence that they want tickets for this game. the ticket office staff do a very hard job for not much pay, anyone who abuses them deserves to be banned for life

There was a lad at the walsall game who had a similar problem with a member who was coming, the ticket office just set up a temp card for that game.

The system is a joke and I do feel sorry for them in this instance because they have to work to a system that has so many floors. As for the staff and the two in particular mentioned, I try to avoid them like the plague!

They turned that bloke away, so maybe they've learned it's a shit system and this is the way around it? But surely it negates the whole point of the new system anyway? There was nothing wrong with the way they used to do it, so why they've made it harder when people are not bothering anyway, God only knows.

Its a clever way of building an entire customer base that can be targeted with offers or promotions, and also it saves money on producing tickets. Plus it will be loads quicker and easier to buy tickets once your registered.

Well, my season swipe card was late so I made a detour via Stoke to Burton from London by train. The ticket office made a new one up but on return to London still no swipe card. Obviously, the local Gooners have SWIPPED it! The ticketing system does seem a bit bureaucratic and surprisingly difficult to operate smoothly and fairly. Its fine for most locals but that detour cost me £50!

I can't remember the full story now but after having a season ticket for many a year and buying endless away tickets I left the office that day empty handed! Even more of a coincidence to the OP I left the ticket office by saying f@ k you etc aswell ha ha Since that day I've always used scfc online, that things great

I'll give my place up in the queue rather than go to his window. Even when he's not being awkward, obstructive or unhelpful, he just exudes unfriendliness. He always seems as though he really doesn't want to be there, and he's doing you a huge favour by giving up his time to serve you. I'm sure he's a perfectly agreeable bloke in private or down the pub. Some people just aren't cut out for customer-facing roles.

Me and plenty of other people I know think the same. I've been down plenty of times where there has been a hold up in the queue because someone is arguing with him. I just order tickets online or over the phone now to save the hassle. I remember once he wouldn't give somebody an away ticket because their name wouldn't show up on the system. The guy had his season ticket in his hand with all of his details but because the computer wouldn't recognise his name he wouldn't give him a ticket. The guy was absolutely fuming.

Never had any problems. My mate tried get tickets for Sat for him and his son, but as he had no purchase history, was refused them. I went back down with him 10 mins later as STholder and as I "vouched for him" they sold him two and set up their membership cards. He's a Bindipper but his little lad supports Stoke - I can understand why they've done this to stop Citeh fans from infiltrating home areas.
Apparently he'd need to go 3 lesser games before he could buy tickets for top games if I'd not gone down there with him to vouch for him not being a Citeh fan.

To get tickets for the bigger games you need to have a purchase history already, otherwise they won't sell them to you. I also think that if you are buying on behalf of people they have to have a purchase history too.

Not at all, he had no purchase history and neither did his son. His wife did have 2 games a from last season though.

i said exactly this would happen when they first announced the plans. why would people bother to sign up if they are only going to go to one game. i know it doesn't take long but that's what people are like.
i can't understand why they can't just print tickets off like they did for genoa. it's just easier. most people have cards too so it's still greatly reducing paper usage.
