It was genuinely funny when at the end he was asked two faxes come in just before the deadline, Murphy or Savage? TP said 'I'd leave it.' www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23935604The clip is on here. It's near the end

The relevance is that most of those saying Pulis is a shit manager wanted Poyet to replace him, yet they use the fact that Pulis is no longer managing to prove their point when Poyet isn't managing either.

Doesn't mean it wasn;t time for him to go. 3) I was replying to Chiswick, who said Pulis had met his requirement every season. If that's true, why's he not here anymore? Hitting your targets doesn't tend to get you the sack.

Putting aside what folk think of Pulis as a manager (which is not the topic of the thread!)I reckon he's been pretty authoritative, humorous and informative as a pundit. He's in the 'arry mould, old school, likes the banter but knows the business. ......Interesting that he was never asked much about Stoke - probably an editorial decision but he certainly looked a bit stoney faced when Tony Scholes was on the phone! I hope the Beeb keep him on, as compared with the likes of Shearer, Lawro and Owen, (to name but three!) he is Mr Personality Plus!

Only the loony few think he didn't do a good job for us. Not as simple as all good or all shit is it?

Pulis actually seems like a good pundit, I quite like him.
Just immensely frustrating as a manager!

Pulis is already right up there with the best of the pundits (not a hard task, to be fair) - you only have to see his client list in the first few weeks of the season to see that he's a man in demand. I wonder if he's already thinking of staying where he is and retiring from football 'at the top' A bonus that Arsenal fans are unable to turn on the tv or radio without encountering him too.

Punditry now is shite. It bsically follows these rules.
1) Talk about the player/managers character 2) State how you're connected to them (much like the Kevin Bacon game) 3) Use as many unnecessary superlatives as possible and repeat them 4) Under no circumstances do you provide any technical analysis, as the dumb fuck viewers won't understand it.
