I like the long-term planning that has got them promoted with a team capable of holding their own straight away. This has been about a decade in the making.

Slightly contradicting of your earlier post, first two seasons now a decade? make your mind up I'm a big fan of Swansea and they have a great squad and a top manager, is this Bony's debut or has he played before?

My friend is a swans fan and he said Shelvey has looked brilliant in there pre season games, although when you're beating teams 10-0 I imagine anyone on their team looks good... EDIT: a few highlights from that victory, their opponents there looks pretty poor, don't think I could make a judgement till we see Bony play in the prem i guess, I'm excited to see it though!

I mean they've been in the league two years. But yeah, I see what you mean. I do talk a lot of shite. Swansea are pretty much the model for any small but ambitious lower league team to follow. They've put a structure in place that means it doesn't actually matter who the manager is as long as they buy into the footballing philosophy. Jackett > Martinez > Sousa > Rodgers > Laudrup has been almost seemless and that goes back to April 2004.

H And some bright supporters of ours were singing the "this is what its like when your team wins nothing at all" chant at their place in January. On the eve of their league cup semi 2nd leg (eventual victory) and when they were comfortably above us in the league. Idiots.

When Bony finishes leading scorer in the league with 35 I might change my mind.

Shelvey has apparently been absolutely class for them in pre season. He's been playing deeper as opposed to the AM role for Liverpool where he looked gash.

You may think that the but the table and their achievements would disagree Well they play superior football don't they? That much is obvious. But If you were to make an XI out of both teams it'd be half and half. Bony has probably tipped it in Swansea's favour but he could still be a flop.

I wouldn't want Shelvey either from what I've seen of him at Liverpool, but he might be a different player for Swansea. H

Palacios may be a better bet than Shelvey if he actually gets his act together. Or Wilson but I have serious doubts about that. Shelvey's like a very shit Gerrard though.
We're well-matched but after five years in the league and having only been promoted to the Championship in 2007 Swansea should probably still be playing catch-up.
