Good to have a meaningful, pre-season encounter like this for Swansea - they'll hit the ground running in a fortnight.
Oh, what we'd give for another European campaign...

Three days until the two-year anniversary of Split. All these teams in Europe every year don't know how lucky they are. Although Swansea's league form may fall off a cliff like Newcastle last year?

Thats what having proper goals scorers does for a team. Was that Bony's first & second chance.

We've got some catching up to do.
5 years in. Millions upon millions spent.
That Swansea side would make up the majority of an 18-man Stoke matchday squad right now.
The season ahead will tell how close to Swansea we are.
Cheers Tone.

I dont think Swanseas win against Malmö was that impressive. Malmö isnt better than a League 1 team.

He's not going to benefit from slating the squad is he tbf?? On balance, we have a smattering of good PL standard players, and a clutch of ones that are either bog average or not good enough. He's watched them train and piss about in warm up games. Ive seen them in action for god knows how long. My eyes don't deceive me. Back on to the discussion, we would have 4 players in that Swans side, one would be the keeper.

"either bog average or not good enough"
That's not going to change overnight dude. It's his job to sort out what he has, and I'm sure that was pointed out in the job interview....

MH will be fully aware privately I think, that some of his squad are somewhere down the line, heading for the exit. Without listing them here, we simply have too many players that would struggle to attract PL suitors, should they be made available. Watching Swansea tonight and looking back to last season, all of their players looked the part. As you said MH needs time. That doesn't mean though, that he should settle for muddling along with players for the sake of it; done properly we can improve our 'squad' without massive outlay, because in some areas it's that weak.

Top 6 material Begovic Rangel Shawcross Williams Muniesa N'Zonzi Ki Pozuelo Michu Shea Bony Vorm Taylor Chico Palacios Shelvey Pennant Jones Pennant who hasnt played in league for 2 years over Routledge/Dyer? Seriously? Haha. Begovic Rangel Shawcross/Huth Williams Muniesa NZonzi Cameron DeGuzman Pablo/Dyer Bony Michu
Pennant would not get in any Premier League XI at the moment for thesimple fact he's notup to it. He's good cover and maybe after a few sub games he'll be ready in Oct/Nov but I doubt he'll play I'd also take Britton/De Guzman over Palacios whos been good in preseason for 2 years, but shit in a competitive game

Dyer is shite & Routledge has had 1 good season whereas Pennant is proven stock, be that in the PL or La Liga. Britton & Palacios is a close run thing, as was Huth & Chico. EDIT: I've just noticed you've put Cameron in midfield deeming your opinion complete shite. DOUBLE EDIT: I see you've put Williams at LB & Michu on the wing, dear oh dear. That merit a huge 'HAHA'

EDIT: I've just noticed you've put Cameron in midfield deeming your opinion complete shite. DOUBLE EDIT: I see you've put Williams at LB & Michu on the wing, dear oh dear. That merit a huge 'HAHA' Salif Diao and Heskey are proven PL players but it doesnt mean I want them in the team now. Secondly Pennant did fuck all in La Liga. And the most important thing is you said Routledge/Dyer played last season, something Pennant didnt, which auto puts them in the team ahead of him because they at least currently have the fitness ahead of him. Thirdly, Cameron played in midfield for Houston, made his name there as an engine, Pulis also signed him from that position and tried to turn him into a RB. Recently Jurgen Klinsmann played him there to test out his abilities as Jones was not available. Cameron got MOTM and a beautiful assist, a 40yard pass. So unless you're telling me you know more than Pulis and Klinsmann, then Cameron can play midfield easily. And thats where I think he'dbe best, doing the dirty for NZonzi. Thirdly unless you are blind, you can clearly see Muniesa is in my team as the LB, I actually went with the same defence as you. And lastly, as Shea is unproven in PL, Ethers past it, Pennant out of fitness I didn't have many wingers as options. In the metaphorical team Michu wouldnt be on the wing, he'd be behind Bony. You have to remember this isnt an actual team, just a forum debate. So to sum up - Pennant hasnt played game for 2 years, hence Dyer(won them the cup) and Routledge ahead(FOR NOW!). - Cameron has played more games in midfield in his career than at RB(only at Stoke) and CB(USA,sometimes) - Williams is at CB, same as you - It's a methaphorical team, Michu would be behind Bony
