Can't knock his record since he signed for Hannover in January of last year.
2011-12 Bundesliga 6 in 8 Europa League 4 in 5 10 in 13
2012-13 Bundesliga 12 in 24 German Cup 2 in 2 Europa League 3 in 5 17 in 31
Or his 30 in 60 in Norway.

Am I missing something? this guy has scored 18 goals in 38 games in one season in Germany & this is BIG news & a hefty fee?
I'd like to remind people that Crouch scored 17 goals for us?

Fuck me he must be good, we had may aswell sign Rikki Daddason he was lethal in Scandinavia. I think we are way of the mark with the guesstimate of who it is.

Crouch has never scored 17 goals for us in the league. Not even sure if he's scored that many in all competitions for us in one season.

Why wouldn't it be big news though? Germany is one of the top leagues in the world and he's had a fantastic season and a half there. In terms of strikers who are remotely attractable for a Stoke-type club, he fits the bill as well as anyone surely?

He's got 4 years left on his contract so it would have to be hefty, but Nixon mentioned his opinion being mixed when he was younger, but Luuk de jong is only 22, Hope it is Luuk but it seems inevitable its Mame Diouf Aye fair point. I wouldn't be too disappointed, as he seems to have recovered from his early blip at Utd/Blackburn with a good season and a half in a league that I perceive to be technically stronger than the Premiership. Edit: However, if anything was imminent, why would Hannover play him tonight? I dare say any interest has either faded or we've hit a brick wall. Good signing if it comes off, but maybe Hanover played him tonight because Nixon's "tale" involves us bollixing the whole thing up.

I understand Hughes has a bit of a reputation of signing relative unfashionable players and hitting the Jackpot on occasion but Diouf? Got to be honest here, I'm not feeling it I'd like to think whoever has dropped the 'name' for this link is off the mark myself. I

He is 25 with a good record in the last 2 season in a league with both champions league finalists and with his best football to come, and he has a major point to prove. He is a step in the right direction.
Get him in!

Not saying that it wouldn't turn out great but I'd say, 'isn't that that bloke who was pretty shit at Blackburn?'. A good German record but 'big news'? Not for me.

Like I've said on the transfers thread I've only seen him on the highlights programme on ITV4 but he looked bloody good on there playing for Hanover. Obviously it's not the best way of judging someone but he certainly looked a handful and gave defenders a difficult time. So I can see why we'd be interested if it is him.
