Impressive first mile Samba! I struggled today, I think getting leathered at the awards evening on Friday definitely had an impact π Still a 5 mile PB, even if not as much as I'd hoped. Still a second behind my 5 mile pb set in 2017 as an old man
Better get yourself down to Westbridge and try harder

That mean a child beat yours by over a minute? I think you need to spend a little more time on the maths
I thought you'd have been keeping your head down considering some of the old men who we both know well who were out of sight ahead of you

Steady half marathon distance this morning, legs a bit dead after leg day on Friday evening in the gym. I've taken on a PT for a few weeks to get me back on track.

Slowly adding the miles on, and I do mean slowly, 15 miles this morning but pace and energy seems to have gone lately.

More clubs than Tiger woods? Well I've had two in seven years not counting running with your club, 3 trips down to Newcastle AC and a 6 month Tuesday night training stint at Newcastle Tri Club
I once howled with laughter having a look at Whitchurch Whippets site. They helpfully had a kit directory so that their members could recognise the vests of other clubs. I recognised at least two who were modelling a vest from a previous club. One of them has again moved on since.
The Whippets have now taken off the directory probably because it was too onerous a job for someone to keep up with

It's a bit shit really, atleast he hasn't followed everybody else to Castle. It would be nice to see the club progression of some of these lads. At least one is going back to a club he was previously with and that's what I know for myself as I don't tend to get involved in the gossip. Another great reason for not using Faceshite if you can't engage your brain at the same time as your fingers

Harewood Half this morning. Good running conditions, about 8C, and firm underfoot. More or less all XC, bit on estate tracks. Made an interesting change to some of the other XC Halfs up here - many tend to be over moorland, with a long steep ascent and then a plateau, but this had a lot of short steep ascents, couple of long slow valley ones, twisting course.

Just a general comment, wasn't aimed at yourself. Going on that, have you changed clubs ?

Best move I ever made although it would be better if I was running rather than walking for England at the moment Since I left I must have recommended around 6 people to my old club including one who's doing really well. I try to marshal their races as well. Unless you're a complete idiot there's no need to fall out with your club when you move on.
I thought your comment was based on personal experience of running clubs and not a dig.

It can be like a bloody school playground sometimes π Samba, stay out of the politics, and enjoy your running, that's all I can say! 18 solid miles for me today, marathon prep going well so far and running well. Knighton in a couple of weeks, but treating it as a tempo as I've been warned off by a couple of people that a really hard effort at Knighton may give me a good performance, but it could detract from Manchester.
