I'd ditch the 10 mile race then unless you expect to be an unused sub.

Any of you actually run in compression socks? No but I have thought about them. One of my mates swears by them. Are you asking or are you recommending?

I’ve done a marathon so I know how to train and do that. I’ve started swimming now and intend to do an Ironman. At my age with my injuries any bit of clothing that helps I will try

People keep telling me to start swimming and I've lost count of the number of people who've told me to get on my bike
You're well young enuff to do an Ironman young man and well 'ard enuff.
I'll ask about the socks. Funnily enough I've just walked back to the car with someone who wears them, he rarely has any injuries and is roughly your age. His secret might be that they're multi-coloured and sometimes even different colours

Cheers. I’m not young though. It’s just the next challenge for me. I’m not entering until I know I can do it. I’ve got lots of cycling events already arranged for next summer. Ventoux again, coast to coast in a day etc so I’m targeting Tenby in 2020. I want to do it well not just finish.

Any of you actually run in compression socks? I love them. I even wear them under running tights if I'm feeling especially kinky. I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but I don't seem to get calf cramp when I wear them (which I do often get when I'm not wearing them).

Any of you actually run in compression socks? Yes, started to use them recently. Seem ok. I've had plantar fasciitis on and off this year, and tight Achilles and calfs as well, went to up and running in Chester yesterday for a gait analysis and the guy said he's had about a dozen people in this year who had the same trouble and were running in asics 2000, only done about 200 miles in them as kept on going back to older asics kayanos. Tried and ran on the treadmill there with brooks, saucony, asics, and ended up with mizuno, first time with them, see how they go. Keeping up to 10 miles on a Sunday, Just to tick over.

It’s my legs as opposed to fitness holding me back on running so I’ve ordered a pair. Hope they work

All quiet with me at the mo...just 10-15 miles per week, ticking along nicely Marathon training starts officially in December.... Parkrun 100 next weekend Getting the shirt....and the clap? Oh I say! With my local Worcester one being a 500+ event ever week, their will be a bit of atmosphere for sure. A good turn out of Black Pears is usual, and what seems to be a tradition at The Woods any sort of celebration event = cake! Aim is also for me to do 1 lap in Black Pear vest, and lap 2 in Chorlton Runners top as they are my second claim Club now As for the 100 T shirt....will wait for the post box to rattle

So I bought some compression socks. I don’t know if it’s science or placebo but I had my second best time on my usual 3.5 mile route I do at work
Either way legs definitely felt better and less of the pain I usually get
